Amoung those rare breed of soldiers known as knife ninjas, there has been a growing desire to test ones mettle against one's own kind.
But how to do so?
W are stealthy by nature. An encounter is rare at best, and the stupid 'notifiation' system, is similarly rare in giving reliable notice in-battle to anyone.
I would like to propose the following:
When you seen a known knifer on the opposite team list, and you wish to duel them, wait near "Objective A", with knives drawn, and just hang out, not particuarly doing anything. The discerning knifer will eventually notice you, and respect your wish for a clean knife fight.
Proposed rules:
1. Obviously. NO use of other types of weapons, no matter the provocation.
2. No teaming up, either planned, or unplanned. If, after engaging in a duel, someone from your side decides to engage your opponent, be courteous, by disengaging, and refusing to follow.
If you dont mind pissing off your teammate. you might even block the bullets, to allow your noble opponent a fair chance to regain cover
3. A true gentleman faces another, fairly. Use ADV, rather than proto, knives, if you wish for a memorable battle.
To encourage honorable behaviour, and make it easier to recognize honorable opponents, I also designate this list as a signatory piece, for anyone who wishes to declare they will meet on the field of battle, with knives only.
Only rule #1 is mandatory, to sign up here. I would suggest that when you sign, you also specifically designate which rules you will follow

I don't see the point of rule 3 as scouts, unless you're tanked as ****, you'd die either way.

I apologize, as I do not use nova knives. However, I will try my hardest to finish you with a punch, should I encounter a duelist.
Also, this thread may attract attention from people looking for easy kills. Bring it. We few, we squishy few, we band of Scouts are ready.

I have to add. I am compelled.
last week I was specking out my drop suite in different ways.
And to make it work I had to use the knives.
And I killed with the knives. Whole new game approach.
It was wonderful and exhilarating. Very rewarding.
Someday, I will spec into deeper into the knives.
A true art form on its own merits with respect.

Reminds me of tankers forming a non aggression pact with each other and crying when infantry reacted, we couldnt count on them to fight each other since they wanted a shooting gallery in between this "honorable" duel BS so we had to take care of it and now if scouts are going to waste a bunch of time dicking around other frames are going to kill one or the other to prod you into doing something useful
Now if you want to petition CCP for private matches where you guys can do this stuff Ill day Ill support that 100% but get this dueling crap out of normal games

I try to honor knife fights. If I don't have my knives I'll give you a few warning shots with both my weapons and let you go. If you decide to stick around I'll shoot you.

well, this is different. you cant backstab someone from the front, now can you?
Or to put it another way; If backstabbing fails, try diplomacy? 
As a side note, "bringing a knife to a (pistol) fight" could be an interesting event. Depending on the level of each opponent, it could be unfairly matched in either direction.
And/or highly dependant on initial position.
But... erm... if you'd like to discuss more on that, probably a separate forum thread would be best :)

I have to apologise to my knife brothers... I gunned down a knifer, near A.
Somewhat in my defense, in my head, I thought they were sneaking up on me, I think :) But I still feel bad about it. I might have been mistaken :(
I should also note that most of my fits are currently without knives, due to trying out new weapons :(
That being said, I shall re-commit to keeping the safety on my gun, if I see a knifer around... unless it looks like you're coming at me with them.
