So my idea is maybe putting in Mech suits that can assist Pilots in fighting if they do not wish to use Tanks or Dropships (or eventually Fighters if they get put in).
The idea is simply giants suits that have the same controls as infantry and do simple things. However the pilot is exposed and can be killed by either sniping or shooting the pilot in the head. When the pilot dies, the Mech can either be hacked by the opposing team for their use OR used by your own team.
The skills will boost certain aspects of the suit, such as Mech Armour Plating, Mech Sheilds, Mech Weaponry etc. It will also make it so that Pilots don't have to be restricted to fighting in Tanks and Dropships. |

NO ******* LOGI MECHS I will not have CCP ruin mech based combat by total unbalancing the standard variant of it with a vastly superior Logi variant.
If anything it should be Light, Medium, Heavy Frame Mech.... but that will never happen.
If you look at MTAC artwork you will see that the pilot is not exposed, MTAC are sort of like but not really mechanical exoskeletons and more industrial grade robots.

If you haven't searched around the interwebs there is a pic posted from EVE Fanfest that shows how a MTAC (DUST 514 Mechs) will look.
I think their 2013 release date might be a bit off, though they have 2 months +1 day to get it added. That 2 month +1 day to deliver all of their 2013 promises seems like a large bill to fill. Heres hoping the Decembers patch gives every one who has been dedicated to this game a big surprise and delivers CCP's promises.

2013? That's this year. No drones or mechs anytime soon it looks like.
