X-post from General Discussion:
So, two teams are filling up before a battle. The game engine obviously is aware of the existence of squads. Yet, somehow, both of the elite corp squads get put on the same team, while 10-16 randoms are on the other team. There is a simple fix that will massively improve this: split the squads between the teams.
For example, consider the following set of 32 players: 6-squad, 6-squad, 5-squad, 4-squad, 11 randoms Should be partitioned into: 6-squad, 5-squad, 5 randoms 6-squad, 4-squad, 6 randoms NOT 6-squad, 6-squad, 4-squad 5-squad, 11 randoms
I'm sick of entering a match to find that it's me and 15 unsquadded players vs two full Nyain San/Outer.Heaven/AE squads (just picking on you guys for being good). It doesn't seem like it should be that hard for the matchmaking algorithm to evenly split squads between two teams.
Thoughts? Can anyone think of a reason why this isn't already the standard system? It seems obvious. CCP, please implement it. Or send me Scotty's code and I'll freaking do it for you. |

Are you doing FW or instant battles?
because it's a lot easier to queue sync with FW.

Instant w/ all 3 game modes checked, on the theory that it gives me the largest pool of matches to join and therefore the best chance of Scotty not pimp-slapping me. |

Are you aware of queue synching?
Okay, take two to three squads and get them on voice in corp chat (some chat, whatever).
Everybody (every single Merc) gets into the Battle Finder.
The Team Leader counts down and the Squad Leads all select Join (X) at the same time.
Team Leader announces what they are in and anybody that is not in the correct location announces the failure.
EVERYBODY cancels out of the Battle Finder with Circle.
Repeat until they all get into the same match on the same side.
Has nothing to do with Squad Deploy failure or match making (of which there is exactly none in DUST).
Fixing the Battle Finder will not fix this.
If your are getting multiple squads of the same corp, or alliance suspect this behavior. Some think it only worked in FW but it will work in pub stomping as well.

My proposed change would prevent queue syncing from being possible, unless the queue syncing corp got put against an equal number of squads to the number that they queued. Queue syncing in and of itself is not the problem, but rather that the synced team will almost always be put against 10+ randoms. |

Your proposal will cause the main player base to disappear we have been waiting for team ques for how long now? I think we just need to keep unsquaded toons out of fw and pub skirms ... problem solved and give any toons under 5mill sp there own ambushes n doms unless brought in by a squad with a leader that has +5m sp

Yes, queue syncing is possible, but it is a lot more effort than most people can be bothered with. And for most people, really not worth it, not for the purpose you're suggesting, to make pub stomping even easier.
I think most cases of actual queue syncing (in pubs, not FW) are in fact multiple squads of same corp/alliance trying to get in the same match, but on the opposite sides. For fun, for training purposes, to actually have a match where they have a challenge...
