So far the only decent ACOG style weapon is my beloved Tac, but it seems like the Rail Rifle will eat it alive in terms of DPS and range.
Sad thing is that the Tac will definitely die (the Scrambler is going to have better range too, so there will be absolutely no reason to use it anymore) and a part of me will die with it. Sigh.
Good thing I honestly think I'm going to be overpowered with that thing, lol (I generally predict a storm of "Rail Rifle is OP" on Day1).
What's the content you're waiting for? Are you excited about something? Combat Rifle? Vehicle Rebalance? Why?

Also looking forward to the rail rifle. Not only to use, but also for the insta-QQ. Disappointed that they have ACOG and iron sight versions though. I need my iron sights. |

The TAC AR isn't going to die, the purpose is to give you variety without spending more skill points. It's a variant, it's not supposed to be the best. And it does have some upsides, like no fire delay or overheat.
Anyways as for content, I'm really hoping we get some racial dropsuits in Uprising 1.7.

Have almost enough SP saved up to get prof V on the combat rifle. I loved the burst AR back in beta when strafing didn't suck and the gun was good. Been practicing my footwork during redlines, trying to get the most mobility while staying on target so that I can use the combat rifle to it's max potential.
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

No weapon or suit will ever truly die. Only the will to use it can die.
Scout with knives and the pilots of dropships are the greatest example of this, of how one's burning desire or love of a weapon can scorch through all that comes.

The stats are decent for the Rail Rifle but I want to see how's the hip fire with the weapon... remember when the Tac Rifles were the FOTM? Rail Rifles can only be balanced with a horrible hip fire.

Amarr Scout and Amarr HAV. Actually its really just Amarr Scout and one day the Amarr Speeders.

It's difficult to judge on paper how the weapons will behave so I'm more in a wait and see mode before I start trying any of them out - I think CCP Logibro mentioned he'll try and get some footage of each weapon firing a full weapon clip so you can see things like overheat, recoil, etc. If I see that it will probably help me make up my mind more. |

Even then, it's going to be hard to predict what's going to be good or not when core mechanics seem to drastically change at the drop of a hat each patch.
1.0-1.1 CaLogi + TAC AR = God Mode
1.2-1.3 Flaylock Fest, but better strafing.
1.4-1.5 Aim Assist > All

And it's going to have an ACOG scope and massive range, so it actually sounds very similar to the Tac and the automatic fire is going to be the real difference. I'm pretty sure I will love it.

I really hope that the hip-fire accuracy will be no better than the tacAR's hip-fire. That way we'll get a long-range-only kind of weapon. That means the Gallente Assault Rifle will dominate the CQC and the Caldari Rail Rifle will be at home at the long ranges.
Let's just hope the Combat Rifle doesn't just crash the party by being better at everything. |

I hope it's going to be like this too, otherwise it's going to be nerfed

Remember the Flaylock that we first saw in the videos from fanfest. And almost to a man the entire forum groups that saw the video said "wow, that is OP" Those stats we saw got the very same responce. It looks OP. Expect changes or if not that then a big nerf after it is released.
