They're treating the URL link text as part of the character limit it seems like, but the display on the side isn't counting them as part of it. When you save with a signature with linked text, it'll display correctly before saving, but cut off and break the links in the saved version. I can get imgur shots of this if you need them. |

Can you paste an example of a signature that would break after saving? That would be really helpful.

Is there a reason for the 120 character limit? On the Eve-O forums, I'm able to fit a message as well as a hyperlink. Here, though, the hyperlink gets counted against the character count.

Jadek, I would be mighty careful how you invoke Zalgo. That forum sig is just pushing the boundaries, and what you did with the post's body text distortion is obviously a violation of forum rule 29. Don't do that any more Please.

Perhaps I should add that the original way I ran into this "issue" was filling the character limit to the brim, then going across those characters and adding 5 links.
So it read sort of like:
Blah blah blah blah blah
then with added links it had a different structure:
[1blah] [2blah] [3blah] [4blah] [5blah]
[1 the link]
[2 the link]
[3 the link]
[4 the link]
[5 the link]
(that's an approximation)
I found that interesting, because that's not how your linking typically works in the Dust forums, so I assumed it was made to "not count the html mark-up type text" as part of your character limit as it still let you make all those links after you hit the character limit. It was after completing those links that I had a "working" signature in the preview, but saving it cut off everything to the character limit including the mark-up language characters. |
