New weapon changes, new weapons, new AV changes, new vehicle changes, new suits (eventually...)..... not to mention the drastic adjustments that have already taken place since the last respec.
People need the opportunity to spec into something new if their favorite method of play is, in their eyes, ruined. And doing that at this point is a game killer since you have sank so many months worth of work into doing what you are doing right now. And a respec will do nothing but let both those who screwed around with their SP and those who chase Fotm fits to spec into the new FotM gear. That's all it will accomplish.
A complete reset and refund of all boosters and and aurum would allow the game to feel fresh and balanced across the board again. We could try out the new weapons, gear and vehicle changes from the standpoint that everyone should experience them: as a beginner. People can respec without worrying about getting thrashed in their new gear or having to run their old gear until their new gear is leveled enough.
2 side benefits, though not really important on their own: Those who are good at the game can mop people up since they are all in low level gear, and those who are poor at the game will have people on par with them gear-wise for a while to help them pick up their game.
Now, before it's chimed in elsewhere: I know CCP said the absolute last reset would be at the beginning of open beta. But things would feel new and exciting again if everyone were to start over from the beginning. There is so little to work towards when you've maxed out the essentials of your suit, this would be a great way to give us all something to work towards again.

Whatever...does anyone really care anymore? They should just straight up refund my money I spent on AUR as well. And pay me for BETA testing. Reset the killboards too. |

If they paid us for beta testing, I'd be up to my ears in AUR. They need a new system for the leaderboards, and definitely a reset for them. Maybe have an all-time board and reset the regular boards once a month or so.
I would like to care again. I think a reset might just do that, shizzle be gettin' crazy in Dust Land. And PC might be a lot more laughs after a reset too.
Edit: Dunno how I double quoted, but fixed. |

A reset is fair across the board rather than just being fair to those who are mostly or wholly unaffected by the changes. |

You might keep newer players but I'm willing to bet a LOT of vets would just leave because so many people can't be ****** spending months grinding SP just to be able to play at a competitive level again. |

If all the SP was reset, this game would die. The majority of players worked through blood and tears to get what little they have now. To take that away from them would be a crime.
I wouldn't mind if there was something AUR related that could refund a line. (For example: if I used it on the AR, I'd get everything from the AR line such as operation and prof. back, but I'd also keep everything else that I skilled elsewhere.)
I believe this is the ultimate alternative to respecs. The sound solution. CCP could make so much money from this. |

I'd agree to that. (I'd have a lot of arum as sad as that sounds) Which is why another wipe will never happen. If they did just wipe everything and do a refund, any AUR purchased in beta would be increased to millions under the new exchange rates. You literally would have enough to buy boosters to last you for 10 years. |

No joke, from waaaay back when we had to get access to closed beta (Codex, I believe?) until now, I have probably spent a grand total of $500 in Arum/merc packs.

That being said as painful as it would be I'd still stick around and start building my characters again. In addition to refunding AUR, I'd prefer they start everyone out with 1M SP, and for god sakes, release damn militia versions of all the weapons!!

While part of me would be rather annoyed, another part wouldn't mind a reset for the sake of balance. I would hope they'd comp everyone a "Vet" booster equivalent to their previous SP that empties over time or matches to make getting it back seem less of a hopeless grind, though (on top of refunding AUR, of course). That "****, it's gonna take HOW long?" is a terrible, terrible feeling. |
