So, another thread was talking about whether or not armor and damage mods or shielding and kinetic catalyzers was better. It got me thinking about how much I could fit on one Caldari mk.0 in a well rounded manner. This was done on paper after all skill bonuses, rounded to make it as hard to fit as possible (rounded up on CPU/PG costs, down on effects), so it should fit.
Paper wrote: Assault ck.0
4 highs/3 lows (60 base * 1.3 skills) 78 PG/(300 base * 1.3 skills) 390 CPU
2 Complex Light Damage Modifiers = 18 PG/116 CPU 2 Complex Shield Extenders = 22 PG/108 CPU
1 Complex Kinetic Catalyzer = 15 PG/ 27 CPU
2 Basic Armor Plates = 2 PG / 20 CPU
57 PG/272 CPU
21 PG/119 CPU remain
GEK-38 Assault Rifle = 6 PG/36 CPU M1 Locus Grenades = 3 PG/18 CPU K17/D Nanohive (R) = 12 PG/63 CPU
21 PG/117 CPU
0 PG/2 CPU remain
143% Damage (1.05 adv weapon * 1.15 proficiency * 1.19 mods)
118% Sprint Speed (1.12 kincat + .05 catalyzation + .05 biotic upgrades - 0.04 armor)
406 Shields (210 base * 1.25 core shielding + 66 * 1.1 * 2) + 336 Armor (120 base * 1.25 core armor + 85 * 1.1 * 2) = 742 eHP
I figured the damage boost of a Duvolle and Core Locus Grenades wasn't worth the fitting costs.
I contemplated armor repair and decided on fitting the ADV triage nanohives instead of using reactive plates or armor repair units.
Complex Damage Mods beyond 2 are at half and then one third effectiveness, so I didn't bother with those.
In a 1 v 1 against the same suit with all Shield Extenders, this suit will win or tie because the even split between extenders and damage mods is mathematically more effective. It also kills much faster when flanking than the shield build, obviously, so it's superior unless you get flanked yourself or killed by someone out of range. Plus, shields are PG costly and cut into other things, making them counterproductive.
Complex Kinetic Catalyzers cost too much PG for two. If you drop the hives to Compact and one extender to Enhanced, you might be able to fit another one and have enough spare CPU to upgrade the plates to enhanced or the grenades to proto, but I'm not sure. This would increase flanking ability to capitalize on the nature of the damage mods, but it'd be much harder to repair armor and restock ammo, as well as having slightly less shields.
The goal is to fit as much power, speed, shields and armor as possible in as balanced a manner as possible, preferably with room for a nice piece of equipment, like a scanner or nanohive. A way to repair armor above the 1 HP/S of basic and enhanced reactive plates is preferable. |
