CCP, as you guys monitor all the players and stats in this game,
how many main characters from each class.
1. Light , Medium and Heavy are there.?
Would be interesting to know.
2. Why can't 1 proto profile dampener beat the advanced scanner for medium class suits ?.
The need for more than 1 dampener just to beat the advanced scanner is pointless because of the loss of much more important modules.
If the advanced scanner was changed to 38db it would also have the effect of making people skill into proto scanners.
At this point you really don't need to go beyond advanced because so many people use them you're pretty much always in someones scan. |

Logistics have a lower profile than assaults, so yes they can beat an advanced scanner with one complex dampener. At level 5 dampening they can also resist basic scans without dampeners just like scout suits passively do.
As for the rest of your post, I'd rather see a different solution: buff the dampening mods.
A single complex module should be able to hide an assault dropsuit from advanced scanners just like logistics can. but you should need 2 complex to resist a proto scan. Scouts should have their profiles lowered even more than they are now to be able to resist prototype scanners with one complex module.
Or
Give us another equipment that disables radar in an area to counter scanners.
Just know that most players use advanced scanners. Proto isn't used very much, so if you want to be invisible then just use what you need to block those.
Honestly, the advantage of not being scanned is only good for running a close quarters fitting. If a player can see you at range you automatically light up if you are in their line of sight. Smart players like me also use the scan notification to my advantage. If I locate a player using a scanner (usually spotted by someone spinning), I can focus my efforts on that player to keep my team undiscovered. I can also fake that person out by pretending like my back is turned...and then suprise them before they can shoot at me. |

This is incorrect, the db rating is done by weight, IE Light, Med or Heavy , it doesn't vary on whether you're assault or logibro.
But I had forgot about the additional % from the skill, so in any case that now works.

Nope.
Assaults have 50 profile and 55 resolution.
Logis have 50 profile and 50 resolution, meaning all medium suits show on their passive scans. |
