I've been thinking about why this game is so frustrating. I think the reason is because there are no other means of making ISK. I was able to dampen out the pain of losing a protosuit previously when I was around 300 million ISK. But over the last 4-5 months since Uprising first released I've gone down to nothing. Working hard to stay around 5-10 million ISK (on a good week).
Most people are saying, "Pub matches are not supposed to support protosuits". Okay that's fine. Then I have to play PC to get that extra ISK. PC pays out great ISK. 1-3million per match. The problem with this is it only pays out to the winners. So the losing team who just played in full proto gear and lost 3-5million ISK makes absolutely no profit on the match. They even fronted the bill for the attack of 36 million ISK. Now they are out for their suit losses, and they are out in their corp tax money for the battle.
What happens when the same group of players keeps winning and everyone else keeps losing? Sure this can happen, and it does in EVE. But at least in EVE I can do something else, anything else, to make my money to continue playing the way I want to. I can't do that in DUST and I think this is one huge source of frustration. I have to grind in cheap gear so that every match, whether it be losing or winning, can generate some small percentage of a profit.
I admit, I'm not the best killer, or a slayer like most of you veteran FPS players so this is even more taxing on me and most players like me. When we hit rock bottom in ISK reserves, we can't play the way we want to with our good gear to even the playing field. We constantly get overrun and easily killed because we can't match up with those we are playing against because we can't afford it. Thus it loses all it's fun and enjoyment. The competitive aspect of the game is lost. |

A solution to this would be to connect this game to Eve and make it worth their while to pay us to do things. Oh and add PvE. |

PvE would be great. Much like mission running in EVE. This would work great... If it were implemented. |

There are lots of ways to make ISK in dust they are just not very conventional and some are very closely guarded trade secrets of the 1%.
Just need to think outside the box to make your ISK...

So what your saying is that you have run Proto so long you are unable to run suits and weapons below proto or you get steamrolled? dosent that kinda seam wrong to you? How about you get good with advanced gear, then when you can aford Proto you will apreciate its abilitys more and have more skills. |

When the secondary market is going to be released(hopefully soon), it would give us another venue to make ISK without ever having to battle. And hopefully we'll get our own industry with mining, refining and manufacturing, that's something I would definitely look into. |

What I'm saying is that when I run my advanced gear, yes it's better, but it cost about 50k per suit. So if I'm only getting 150-250k isk per match, and let's be honest, the average is really on the lower part of 200k isk per match, then I am allowed 2 deaths in my suit before I lose 50% of the profit. So I can die twice and then I make 100k ISK. How many games do I need to play to make 1 million ISK? 10 matches. Then from those 2 hours of playing, I can run 4 proto suits before I go back to zero again.
Do you see the problem now? If not I can alleviate your lack of intellect, as demonstrated by your illogical argument and your misspellings, and lack of eyesight to use autocorrect, a feature which is so useful to even the daftest of people.
I run the cheapest set of gear to make the most profit. So instead of spending 50k on a loss, I spend only 13k on a loss, thus increasing the amount I make in a match. Dying 2-4 times in a match means I can still make a better part of that ISK meaning I can run my better gear sooner, and longer.

This goes back to what I've been saying for a while. There is no incentive to win. Regardless of the suit you want to field.
Although this is an FPS, you shouldn't try to win. Just run cheap gear and play passively. Don't try to cap objectives just hover at the edges and try to pick up cheap kills. If this doesn't work, redline snipe with a tank or a rifle.
I highly doubt it will be any fun, but at least you'll have stacks of ISK. If everyone does it there will be absolutely zero combat. So everyone will profit. I'm sure this will be great for the game.
OR we could incentivize winning and performance not mere participation. |

Perhaps they could introduce modules and suits that we could buy with real money that didn't get consumed - that way we would have a way to use the proto gear we have worked for months to get........ |

While there are a few different ways of making Isk outside of the normal pub grind in BPO suits or equivalent they generally rely on being a skilled FPS player and/or high SP toon.
I would very much like to see some form of mission running that could be done by yourself, squads or teams for the average or even bad players. They could even introduce the salvage skill which at level 4 means you can secure really high grade salvage if it is on the field.
Tie this to player trading and you could make a decent amount of Isk. |

Creates Alt, Plays shitily until leaves academy, sends money to Main, Biomass Clone.
Each ALT could generate roughly .5 mil ISK prior to leaving the academy, therefore, you can end up with 1 mil ISK every 10 hours (If your up when it gets Bio'd :P)
I could See many other things as a good way to generate some ISKies
- Standard Fits - PC Clone Sales - The Random Giveaways on the Forums
New little ISK generators that would be nice could be
-PVE -Market -Mining -Manufacturing -Real Mercenary Contracts (i.e. Corp A hires me to go and Take Corp B's District) -CEO Money Skimming (Probably already happening!) -Raids (Pirate-like Conduct on the poor Carebear)
And the list continues. I'd be fine with just the Market and PVE TBQH. |

Scam people. Its easy to do. One way to do it would be to create multiple alts and pretend to be a newbie and beg in local. People send you ISK and you funnel it directly to your main. You can make multiple millions a day if you are a good actor. |

It's not like your post is without flaws. I'm sure a professor could review it and underline much of it in squiggly blue lines, even if the automatic grammar correction does not.
That's not to say you don't have a point. The rate at which you earn money is pretty slow for the average player, compared to the costs of a fully decked out Proto suit. I recommend switching roles for your standard and advanced suits if you have the SP so that you can minimize your deaths and mix things up. A standard logistics suit with laser or mass driver can be cheap and effective in a support role, and can pull in a fair amount of dough. |
