When we eventually get all of the racial HAV's (and vehicles in general), the Amarr variant will mostly be an armor variant, at least if CCP follows suit with their combat philosophy and none of that dual-tanking garbage. Now the Minmatar variant will be mostly shield tanked.
Laser weaponry = very effective against shields
Projectile weaponry = very effective against armor
So they are optimized to pwn each other.
I'm guessing it then boils down to modules, suprise, support, etc.
I just have a silly cenario playing out in my head where an Amarr tank and a Minmatar tank meet each other face-to-face, blast each other, and both of them blow up.
Welp.

And I imagine minmatar will have the fastest tanks.
While the ammar will be some of the slowest.

I see Minmatar HAVs as the hybrid tanks, and the Amarr as slightly less armour and same shields as Gallente but with another low slot and a bonus to turret modifier modules.
Minmatar might also be artillery. |

Oo, yeah.
Caldari are supposed to be the hit and run.
Minmatar being artillery makes some sense! |

Anyone know why they switched the combat philosophies around, anyway? In EVE, at least, the Amarr are almost pure armor tankers, whereas the Gallente are armor-centered, complimented with more shielding than the Amarr use. But for DUST, it was flipped... |

That Amarr dual tank trash need to be fixed....
The sential is kind of the slot layout I think a proper Amarr suit should have. |

Skimmed over OP, didn't bother reading through anything else because it didn't seem to be a call for CCP to finish the game's basic content. CCP FIRST PRIORITY should be to release all four racial variants of basic light, medium, and heavy dropsuit frames and vehicles. When they have a complete foundation they can worry about making meaningful progress towards resolving balance issues.

I didn't say that it was a priority. Treating a post as "TL;DR" just because you find it irrelevant is just silly.
I agree with you on the dropsuits, believe me. And racial weapons, and technical issues, and balancing, etc.. |

armor wont be OP forever, so no need to hope your race gets armor tanks, when the come. why the dual-tank hate? i run amarr suits for his very reason. |

No. It's technically called DUCK tape. The original design came from an actual tape back in one of the old wars (probably Vietnam) where soldiers slapped tape onto parts of their guns to make them more water resistant when waddling through the wetlands. I think they had a weird alpha-numerical designation but the troops called it Duck tape for short.
You're associating the tape nowadays that's often used for sealing DUCTS in ventilation systems but their original application came from war. |

Welp.
Vehicles so far have followed the trend of their dropsuit counterparts, rather than their space-faring ones. It is likely that the Amarr vehicles will have a reduced slot layout and evenly distributed HP.
What I do look forward to is the possibility that the Minmatar vehicles have lots of highs. There probably wouldn't be the PG to fit loads of shields, so they could be perfect for weapon mods. Combine that with their potential speed, and we may see the first truly hit & run tanks. |

The sential is kind of the slot layout I think a proper Amarr suit should have. I believe they dual tanked amarr because it being so slow meant mlt x grenades would do 600+ damage with no shield to buffer. I find the dual tank to be a sort of saving grace. Gallente's fast enough that they don't truly need shields to tank nades. |
