Orvolle GÇô The Scope has obtained and released a portion of the Senate report on Operation Highlander. According to the dossier, the Federation has had operatives infiltrating the Caldari State since the outbreak of the Empyrean War in YC110. This includes numerous operatives engaged in long-term, deep-cover operations within all eight Caldari megacorporations.
The released information claims several high-level megacorp executives had been compromised by intelligence operatives, contributing to the destabilization of the Heth regime prior to the attack on Caldari Prime. The names of the executives are absent from the document, but it claims none are still considered active assets for the Federation following the downfall of Heth. It does refer to several GÇ£less valuable assetsGÇ¥ that remain within the megacorps, Caldari Navy, and State Protectorate.
Citing whistleblower and freedom of information laws in its decision to release the information, the Scope has claimed the release of the document is legal. Despite this, Black Eagles operatives were seen raiding several of the ScopeGÇÖs offices throughout the Federation. |

Woops, sounds like the Federation really didn't want that to get out. |

Well no crap. The fact that the Federation has deeply perforated the Caldari State's intelligence bubble, and severely compromised high level positions, is rather common knowledge. The only people that will be surprised by this are hard line Gallante skeptics and those who underestimated the power of the Gallante Empire.
I'll give credence when it is due. The Caldari State was the hardest of the other three Empires to infect with agents. |

I'll give credence when it is due. The Caldari State was the hardest of the other three Empires to infect with agents. I was more concerned with the Black Eagles response than the act of espionage itself. So much for your "freedom of information" laws. |

Federal agents having infiltrated high-level positions is nothing new, but it is something nettlesome. Of course, unless such infiltrations reach a critical level it's unlikely that they'd be able to cause as much trouble as the long-term pre-war Gallentean cultural manipulation that led to a bad case of individualism and entitlement among the Caldari corporate elite did.
In any case, it seems we have a little housecleaning to do (again). |

I suspect your hatred of the Gallente is somewhat coloured by this fool. |

It somewhat is. Having met some more reasonable Gallenteans I realised I don't hate them as a people. I just hate this guy. |

You all have to admit, Empire sounds way cooler than Federation. Plus, we all refer to each other's territories and bureaucracies as Empires. |

And yet it betrays everything we stand for. We are a Federation, not an Empire. Others may blather on about our shortcomings - but we have our ideals. |

The thing that sets the Gallante apart is that we provide a cohesive environment where all points may be argued in a respectful manner. |

I find that claim dubious in the extreme given the tendency of individuals to bash mindlessly on certain other Empires, States, and Republics. |

I never said we would agree. I was trying to personify that one could speak their stance without being punished by the bureaucry. It's the reason the Federation is always seen as the rowdiest of the four entities, it is not genetic, it is simply that people are allowed to express themselves fairly. These beliefs, which are now part of law, protect all impartially.
Just like they protect a quiet Intaki group of meditating Intaki, it also protects the loud and ignorant right extremist Gallante who scream and chant in the streets (as long as it posses no harm and breaks no laws, permits may be needed). |

I usually keep my peace on these matters because my love for the Federation's people is not mirrored on its government and this conflict often leaves me a little confused. Thus I find myself torn about the Black Eagles' response. On one hand it's a breach of the "Freedom of Information" laws but on the other it's a reaction to a security breach that puts at risk espionage operations being performed by the Federation, which in turn can put Federation citizens at risk, a fact I find unacceptable. |
