I was making a run through my redline in my tank when I d/c'd. Signed back on and my 800K HAV was gone.

I am afraid this is only fair. Otherwise people would just unplug the PS3 to save their expensive vehicles. It is very difficult to tell a fake DC from a server side one. It sucks but the alternative would lead to abuse. You have been here long enough that you know this. So i reply for any new players who may read this and have questions. |

You'd think they could do something like if the vehicle was at full health or X distance away from a red during DC.
I don't know.
I've only ever really flown logi dropships before and they basically always die before I have the chance to DC. Just noticed it because ***** expensive as ****. |

That still wouldn't work. I could see i was about to get chased down and pull the plug before the 3 volleys of proto swarms hit. It does suck. And If there is a fair solution I can't think of it. |

What about it keeping you in your vehicle for 1 minute after disconnect wherever you disconnect? So if you were in a safe spot you could possibly wait out the timer, then it would safely log you out. This would still allow you to be blown up since you're vulnerable for that time, but would give you the chance to still keep your assets if you were truly out of harms way.
Hardest part I would imagine is keeping your vehicle around once you've D/C'd, but doesn't EVE do something where if you have an aggression timer your ship stays in space for X amount of time if you log? |

The problem would be how to code that. You are no longer sending data to the game and technically don't exist anymore as far as the game is concerned. |

I was in a tank when I disconnected once and a squad member was gunning for me (a.k.a. stealing all my war points by firing the last shot) he took control of the tank when I disconnected and survived the match with it. We were in corp chat not squad so he told me it was still operational while my assets did not. CCP needs to make it so at least if a gunner for your tank survives the round so does your tank that's at least 1.4mil I'd still have. |

Right there. You solved it.
Asset stays in game when you disconnect, and your spot in the tank becomes forfeit, gunner or not. If a blueberry keeps it alive, you keep it in your assets. If it gets destroyed or an enemy hacks it, you lose it. Still sucks for dropships, but there's really no easy solution for a flying vehicle if you disconnect
That sounds unreasonably fair to me. |
