Since the server downtime last night, I have been unable to connect to the DUST514 servers.
Game screen remains on the "Connecting... Attempting Login" screen. After 5-10 minutes, it defaults to the "Unable to connect" screen.
I'm based in Oceania. I've tried resetting my router, reconfiguring my ps3 internet configuration, restarting my ps3 (multiple times).

Can you see Server name and player number in the right bottom corner while you're trying to connect to server? It should be something like this:
SERVER: TRANQUILITY PLAYERS: 38473
or they just appeared empty? |

Yes, it's always empty. I get stuck on this screen: http://puu.sh/4Y8kj.jpg without any changes until it gives me the "Unable to connect" screen. |

Things I have not tried: 1) port forwarding 2) reinstalling dust
I believe I was last online around 0900HRS UTC with no issues. |

It looks your PS3 cannot connect to TRANQUILITY server at all. It's not like service software problem. We're asking operations team to take a look. |

Not sure if it's worth mentioning, but the server offline message I get says:
"Dust 514(r) will go offline today for an extended period of time starting from 11:00 UTC. Server is expected tocome back up at 11:40 UTC. For more information please visit Announcements section over at http://forums.dust514.com"
Server and Players remain blank. |

Hi!
Can you try to ping crest.eveonline.com ?
Could you also try opening https://crest.eveonline.com/ in a browser? It should download a file. Try to open it with notepad and check if the you see stuff like:
Quote: "serviceStatus": {"dust": "online", "eve": "online", "server": "online"}, "userCounts": {"dust": 1585, "dust_str": "1585", "eve": 20287, "eve_str": "20287"}, "serverVersion": "EVE-TRANQUILITY 8.33.630374.632321",
in there.
Let me know how that goes.

Hi,
Just for eliminating, are you sure your PS3 is connecting to internet? Can you play other online games on PS3 or access to any websites on PS3?
Thank you |

Hi OverRainbow,
I was able to connect to the internet on my PS3 and played other online games/websites for the ps3 (Journey and Dark Souls). The issues has since been resolved.
I will edit the first post and create one final post outlining the issue, problem and solution. |

Overall, the main issue was being unable to get past the "attempting to connect" login screen on the PS3.
Symptoms of this issue 1) Being unable to access https://crest.eveonline.com . Accessing said site should result in the download of a file called "download" without any file extension. 2) Seeing "Server: " and "Players: " without and text (It should normally display "Server: Tranquility" and "Players: 9001") 3) The user should also be able to "ping crest.eveonline.com" and "tracert -d crest.eveonline.com" successfully in the command promt (cmd) window.
Solution: Issue was resolved by bypassing the router and connecting the PS3 directly to the modem.
Addendum: The source of the issue lay in the router, and there should theoretically be a way to allow connection to the dust514 server through the router. I will attempt to activiate DMZ and some portforwarding, but will probably not followup on this issue in this thread. |
