Is everyone's hopes for the dust economy kind of meaningless considering that ISK is infinite and easily obtainable without effort? |

When people can sell a Thales for 30 million or so, the ISK won't seem so infinite.
Although by the time we get trading, everyone will be a billionaire. |

In the same sense, ISK is infinite and obtainable without effort in EVE. Except that, really, it's not. It takes time, and it metered out only so quickly...even though it takes trivial effort, that's apparently enough of a resource limitation on which to build an economy.
EDIT: I guess I should specify that I'm referring to hi-sec mining...which you can do with as little interaction as you can enter matches and AFK in Dust. |

in eve a billion isk can go quick.
I'd imagine it would be the same in dust eventually.
the only people who will be ahead of the isk curve once there is a true eve/dust connection will be the vets who've already been playing the better part of a year or more.
for everyone else, isk will be anything but meaningless. |

Hard to predict. Someone would be looking at several weeks of AFK farming to afford a single officer weapon, so it wouldn't be the most practical way of obtaining them.
If anything, it might allow those who have unused officer weapons to make a small fortune and no longer have a need to AFK, at least for ISK. |

Even with AFKing, it'd probably be easier just to do FW, which in essence will be a giant ISK sink. |

our means for obtaining isk is limited. While isk could be infinite, it takes time to obtain. That time is what we will effectively be trading. I haven't really heard anything about how the market is going to change, just that we will be able to player trade. What if the new market is completely run by player salvage or we get to manufacture with absolutely no stocked market items from ccp besides the aur stuff? The more free market and player driven it goes, the more i'll like it. |
