Just curious if anyone knows. What's the scan profile of an uplink, and are they subject to the normal rules for passive scanning?
Also, will an uplink be picked up by an active scanner? |

Yes, uplinks are picked up by Active Scanners. |

Uplinks are picked up by even the cheapest active scanners. And your passive scan radius is only 10 meters (needs to be buffed for all suits) so by the time you're within range you can see them anyways, or at least hear that loud annoying ring they have. |

Also, will an uplink be picked up by an active scanner? I don't know what the profile is as a scout I can see them just fine, but I have passive bonuses from precision skill. |

I'm curious now. Any heavies about who can talk to this? Are you able to detect uplinks within passive scan range?
I'm making the assumption that the scan profile is high enough to be detected by any dropsuit within scan range, so >60. |

I just look at the ground for mini beacons...but active scanners work too if you're lazy... |

I'm making the assumption that the scan profile is high enough to be detected by any dropsuit within scan range, so >60. I run a basic light frame to start the battle and they show up, then i switch to Heavy for the rest of the fight. In my heavy frame I can see uplinks if I have a visual (line of sight) on them they appear on my map, I can also see them if placed near a CRU, objective, or Supply Depot that is hacked to my team. With the small scan radius I can't say that i see them for sure unless I have them in line of sight. I think I will pay some attention to this when i am in game next, you got me curious |
