I know I'll receive hate for suggesting this but .... is it possible for FW to actually be FW ??
During the event all that happened is a majority of the protobears switched and fought for someone else half way through and ownership switched according to who had decided to fight where .. which is 1 massive yawn fest and resulted in tons of unbalanced games some of which had stacked teams of 16v1 due to a lack of people wanting to fight for the other faction
Introducing your LP system is 1 thing but you have to make sure you only earn LP when fighting for your home race or give a 100% LP bonus if you fight for your own race .. I want to actually feel something towards my place of birth, I absolutely hate fighting for the Caldari in FW alongside Amarr, Minmatar and Gallente people .. I may be a Merc but why am I forced into fighting for ISK why can't I fight for my own reasons ?? You have PC where you fight on behalf of your corps and alliances, you have pub games where you fight for ISK so why can't FW be where you fight for your pride as a member of the Caldari/Gallente etc etc ??
Don't allow pre formed squads to join FW it can only be entered solo however you automatically get placed into a random squad. it would certainly make games more interesting and fun and may even allow some lore to be created. you can give people ranks and rewards within each faction etc etc
I often hear how this game isn;t your average FPS game .. yet wheres the MMO side to it ? This game is a glorified lobby shooter that has delusions of grandeur whilst being pretty average at best .. This isn't the only shooting game that has had a skill system

EVE side, you can only join the faction of the sovereign state that the station you're currently docked in resides. For example if you're docked in a station in Gallente space you can only join the Gallente militia despite being Amarr, Minmatar, or Caldari.
Currently in DUST, the way FW works is you press square, choose who you want to fight for, and bam...you're a part of FW. CCP has not made it where you "enlist" yet, but perhaps that is coming soon. |

They already have a plan. Standings.
Ex. The more you fight for the Amarr Empire, the higher you're standings rise for Amarr Empire, and fall for Minmatar Republic. Eventually, you will be locked out of Minmatar FW, and get better rewards from the Amarr. |

The one thing to bear in mind here though is that most of the players who took up arms to fight for Amarr and Caldari during the FW event were supporting those factions before the event, they just weren't playing all that much FW. Once the event it these players who were mainly doing PC previously, swarmed to FW. |

I want loyalty. Pride in being a gallente merc using gallente dropsuits fighting for gallente FW. I'll solo and then join a squad in game. I wouldn't want my corp squad to fight for Min. because then I would lose LP. |

I kind of like this incentive; It would make me want to fight for Gallente all the time, and it would only increase incentive for that race. I don't think it would be overpowered for someone to grind for only their own race to get that extra huge boost of LP, here's why:
Your Other Other Other Race Race Race Race
200% + 100% + 100% + 100% ______________________________ = 500 = 125% (New average LP of system) 4
4 (Total Races)
This would provide an average of 125% in boost increase to the pre-existent LP system that would have given only marginally more LP, since there are people in corporations who do participate in Factional Warfare who are multi-raced. Even reducing the benefit to 150% more LP for the race would make a change of 112.5%, almost negligible to the total LP system.
The benefits of this (listen to this one, CCP) is an amplifying effect to both morale of the players, their interest, and their incentive to play the game for their race. Newcomers can then get into the game, immersed more than ever before, once of course, they graduate from the Battle Academy. CCP can sell 50% additional Faction Boosters to increase the amount for fighting for your own race, and there will be tons of profit to benefit from CCP's side; Everyone wins.

Awesome ******* bit right here, both paragraphs in fact. If there is a ranking system that isn't allowed to be exploited by large squads of people (they refer to themselves as "trolls", as if they even have a glimpse of the idea) then we can really add a lot of incorporations that add the much needed fuel to this game to in fact, make this game a bigger MMO; CCP even stated they wanted more MMO elements to it at Fanfest Vegas.
With solo matchmaking, spy efforts are greatly decreased and it also reduces the possibility of large groups of people combining their efforts with getting up to 2 or 3 squads of people that are opt to AFK a match in order to try to lose a specific match (or any match for that matter) who are secretly working for the other team. Solo-matching will only allow one to a couple (on average, statistically) spies or trolls to enter a FW match at one time, and it will make it much easier for people trying to gain rank to accomplish their goals without getting bothered about game-breaking mechanics.
