As convenient as they are, I agree with CCP that blueprints are a problem.
I think they'll get a few suckers paying $$ for disposable items (no offense to the OP), but that CCPs best bet is to introduce things like paint jobs or decals/patches that can be applied to any suit you choose.
People will shell out bucks for individuality willingly even if it gives them no longterm benefit.

I'm picking up the basic pack for warbarge candy and thats about it. CCP should have just kept up with the merc packs and just changed the vanity items every 6months but what with this whole bpo debacle i guess thats screwed now. bein interesting to see what tat they try peddle with the new elite and veteran packs when they remove the covenant and dren bpos |

BPos only cause issues by being untradable, If we could freely trade them then saving ISK might actually have a purpose. And I love my 10k fits, do they get stomped by protos, yes it happens, do I get taken out my advanced or militia, occasionally them too.
They benefit newer players and allow them to mix and match gear without fear of being forced back into starter fits. If people could buy and sell them monetarily things would even out, and even f2p could eventually afford a bpo or two.
The only risk they could possibly generate is mild price inflation. |

To solve the BPO problem, allow Mercs with BPOGÇÖs to get suits using resources instead of ISK. They have suggested that you will be able to to get resources of some sort in PC 2.0. Have the BPO provide reduced production costs, compared to normal suits, so someone with a BPO can run ISK free by selling half their suits to cover production costs.
So Instead of BPO = Free suit
it would be:
X isk to purchase resources (or get the resources from a battle), make 60 suits from the BPO, then sell 30 suits on the open market for a total of X isk, leaving the owner of the BPO with 30 free suits. This should help stimulate the economy while still giving BPO owners the free suits as advertised.
