TLDR - We need some form of segregation. The biggest problem I am seeing with Dust overall is disparity of skill/maturity within the members of a team.
How many times have you and your squad fought your a$$ off to overtake or defend an objective only to finally realize that the only few blue dots on the map are hiding at your deployment area or the MCC and you are totally screwed? Or you may be an excellent tank pilot and have invested serious time and money into your vehicle. You call it into battle only to have some punk kid who sounds like he just slammed a two liter of mountain dew and a red bull and is making fart sounds in his mic jump in as a gunner and start shooting at teammates and rocks. Suddenly you're wondering why you even bothered. Even worse, you are happy when the enemy team drops an orbital on that friendly tank that has spent the match hiding behind your red line.
We NEED more segregation between goofs and actual players, and within the actual player group between newbs and veterans. I believe the academy is horribly under-utilized in its current state. It is barely an introduction. I believe the academy should last considerably longer. It should live up to its name and only those that can meet certain achievements actually graduate.
Beyond the academy there should be varied zones like hi sec/low sec...or queues that match squads with other squads and randoms with other randoms...something. We need to come up with something soon or all that will be left are the ones that own everything and the riff raff that is trolling the red zones.

Making Academy until a total of 100,000 WP is earned is a much better solution. |

That could work as well. But that might be too long of a period. They would have went threw their first batch of skill points and probably would have some advanced gear , in some area's when they are done. That might help as well but it might be a little too much hand holding and an advantage over the previous players. But that's an effort to solve the problem. |

Meh. It stil wont solve the problem of people who "just slammed a two liter of mountain dew and a red bull and is making fart sounds in his mic"
'cause that's a large chunk of the player base, I think :-}
I'm guessing the majority of players who are aged 10-17. Of which there are not just a few.

The answer is tiered battles
i think going by lifetime sp is the best way to go
>mill sp = battle academy
5-10 mill sp = tier one
10- 15 mill = tier 2 and so on and so forth |

10- 15 mill = tier 2 and so on and so forth Yeah, this is likely the most feasible, and best, option. It also puts new players in the Academy for about 2 weeks if they cap, and much longer if they don't. |

LOL i am guessing you have never played WOW. There is a subscription fee and it has TONS of players under 25. Subscriptions dont do anything to force a more mature player base. |

I don't know about that. If these parents are willing to buy their kids GTA 5 then they would pay for that too. Anything to keep them out of their hair sad to say. |

True, that is probably the wrong word in the most general scope. I like the idea of rewarding action and success and that also goes along with finding some method of NOT rewarding MCC campers. I don't want to punish people that are struggling to learn, but getting paid almost the same ISK just for being there doesn't help with the farming problem.
I really think a simple thing that could help in the short term is just the way teams are assembled. They have been experimenting with matchmaking but I don't know what methods it is using. It seems as though there is a lot of matches with a strong coordinated group on one side and random lone wolves on the other. Good battles are needed to keep things interesting. Text Grant's link to the other post and the many other similar threads all show a common request.
I also think the tiered matches that have been suggested in some form or another could help. It might even help clear out SOME of the nerf/buff threads that keep popping up. With all the factors and mismatching involved currently it is expected to see people on here raging.
What's truly sad though is the many more people that we don't hear from at all. They try the game, get frustrated and delete it. |
