I've been thinking about trying out the scrambler rifle but i'm worried my mimmatar assault SMG habits will get in my head and make me go rambo on everyone out of habit.
anytipes as how to use the scr effectively and how to get that damage up?
should i get lvl 3 dam mods and the scr or should i get the scr upgrades all to lvl 2? |

If you can land charge shots you won't need to look back. If you can't, shoot until the enemies shields are down whilst running towards them then burn their armour with the SMG. It's good to have a sidearm with the SCR since the overheat can leave you defenseless without one.
That's for close range - medium range encounters. At longer ranges and especially if you don't want to close the distance between you and an enemy blob, hold a charge until you see foolish AR users like me stand still to fire at you and just pop their face. |

Control your fire. Once you get it in your head that every shot counts with the SCR it feels much more comfortable to use. That might not be exactly what you're used to with the SMG, but it's well worth trying to get used to the SCR.
The other thing is you'll want to keep range a lot of the time. With the SCR, you need to rely on landing your shots solidly and a panicked trigger blitz in CQC is not good for you. You can certainly kill people in CQC, but it's generally preferable to be at midrange. |

should i get lvl 3 dam mods and the scr or should i get the scr upgrades all to lvl 2? 1.) Unless you are using a complex damage mod, don't stack them. You won't be effective and will just lose out on HP, which will make you become a glass cannon.
2.) Profecincy skill. And when you become really good with it, you will be able to perform OHKOs and headshots.

gota love the imperial with 5 prof and 3 damage mods going around and cutting people in half with the charge hit.. was even funnier when you could use the sprint charge glitch and look like your running around with ur middle finger up while ur weapon is charged lol |

Use cover and pace your shots.
OHing is death, and you can't pace your shots if your getting you face GEKed off, therefore use cover.
I don't like the charge, it eats up too much heat and I never seem to hit them. |

Don't over estimate the charged shot, only use it when you feel pretty confident it will land or your target does not see you giving you multiple attempts, If you can't land the charged shots just use quick single fire. |

I'm a long time SCR and ASCR player. I enjoy it and it clearly has a ton of potential in had the right hands...probably not mine though. I've got a fair amount of SP invested (Prof 3) and if I had it to do over I might not have added the proficiency levels.
I attribute this to my moderate gunning skills with the DS3 for the most part. I have to whip out the SMG pretty regularly to finish off guys.
I think if you've got some sniper tendencies and like the option of mixing it up on ground it's a fantastic option. I suspect kb/m players can really take advantage of the weapon. |

Charge uses up a lot less heat with an Amarr Assault suit. When I change to other suits, I'm surprised and dismayed at how much in comparison I must limit charged shots or risk overheating. |

Amarian suits are designed for Amarrian weapons.
Sure a Minmatar can use a SCR , but he wont be able to fully use it same as an Amarrian ASsault. Heh... |

Won't see ScR or SMGs do that. MAYBE MDs.

Covered topics I agree with and will not touch on again, as there is no need. They were covered quite well. They are as follows:
1. Importance of landing your charge shots, followed by quick and/or precise volley shots. 2. Amarr suit and its obvious bonus to the SCR functionality. 3. Medium range (20-40m) is where you live. 4. Overheat drawback. I WILL say to test fire your weapon to see when it will overheat. Spawn in, glance at your initial ammo supply, fire it until you overheat and take a glance at your ammo afterwards. Do your math and soon, you will be able to gauge it pretty well without having to look at it often. Constant reloading is the key though. 5. Use of cover as a viable means of survival/ISK retention. 6. SCR in CQC. If you do have to spam bullets to survive, remember to toggle up towards the head real quick. Make it worth your while. Kill him or make him hurt for HP.
In addition, I will say to you.....ALWAYS flank if there are more enemies than you can handle. Hell, I flank almost ALL of the time. Let your blues engage the reds. They won't notice you anyway until they see their "killed by" screen. As always, if you DO flank, you will either end up beside or behind the enemy forces. Use your wits. Your SCR has tremendous OHK potential. Use it by killing from the "back to the front" of the enemy group. Fire at the front and EVERY red will see your bullet trail. Not good.
Have fun with it. It is a weapon that takes a little skill to aim but once you get it down, you will fall in love (if you haven't already!). |

PROFICIENTCY!! It will help against the minus to armor. Get it to 5. If you enjoy it than start looking at the Amarr assault suit, but only if it interests you. You won't need damage mods on it, but if you want to it will be unstoppable at med to long range.
I prefer shields over a bit of extra damage. It depends on your survival rate. If you die alot, hang back with shields but if you get good with it, you can always push closer with damage mods. One complex mod will give you roughly 7extra damage, or 60 shields with extender. |

they've got a surprisingly good range. you can out-range ar's if you try. |
