I seem to remember being able to knife-disarm remote explosives in last rev.
However, I was just irritated by getting blowed up when knifing an RE
I know that I did it, rather than triggered (i think), because I got a credit for destroying enemy equipment :-/

I may be mistaken, but I think it's a good idea to not, you know, punch or slash explosives which are most likely to blow up. |

Dude, it may used to work before, but that is just terrible logic.
If you wan't to clear R.E., then just use flux grenades. |

It takes a special kind of stupid to stab an explosive device. Or a really dedicated religious extremist. |

Military explosives are usually made in a way that it is DIFFICULT to get them to explode.
So, stabbing them is just fine.
Using an explosive round bad, though. Or zapping it.
Hmm... Maybe I need to try it again, but NOT 'charge' it. If they're being realistic, a charged slash could set it off, but uncharged, not.

Considering the fact they are filled with 3 volatile explosive components I'd try not to be so close when it's set off..... |

REs have always blown up when destroyed. I killed quite a few teamates for shooting them when they ran over one and a few times on the RE placer himself. |

Well it wasn't working as intended before now, I can't count the number of times I have stood directly on top of the RE and harmlessly destroyed it with smg fire before 1.5
An embarrassing number of assisted suicides and a handful of accidental teamkills later I still haven't quite unlearned this habit :(
"WTF, all I did was spray superheated plasma at a pile of high explosives at my feet, why am I dead?"
Tip: flux grenade EMP goes right through walls/installation shields/etc and can be used to quickly clear a control point of danger without fuss |

Slightly off topic but regarding REs...
When I first started playing around with them I liked to place on at or near my feet if I was holding a defensive position, so if some noob tried to nade me or MD me he only got an assist as it caused the RE to blow up and give me a suicide. |
