Just saw a dude call in a HAV on top of a building, expecting him to start sniping. Could not have been more wrong.
I don't know if it was a product of failure or design, but one of my favourite DUST moments is now watching through my sniper scope as a redberry swan dived his tank off a building to land face first in the dirt. And just in case you're wondering, a 100m drop does surprisingly little damage to a HAV, he didn't even go to half shields...then trundled of to assault Alpha.
I expect it has to do with the streamlined tank design, it looked much more graceful in the air than a dropship  |

I remember one video of tank really flying with those afterburnerboosters. Does it work nowadays? |

My favourite dust moment is something similar except I snuck on top of a building with a red tank on it and tossed some REs down.
Pushed the detonator and watched the tank literally fly off the side of a tower.....and then I fell off as I tried to watch him explode  |

That's how I explain landing to students:
Don't hold the button just keep tapping them, and alternating between L1 & L2 |
