So, it's weird. It's weird that it took me this long to finally 'get it'. I mean before this, I thought (yeah I thought haha lol, whatever -_-), that they were suppose to be used to finish off an opponent, like any other sidearm. Though, that is not their main purpose. You are not suppose to be able to run up to an opponent while they are shooting at you and stab them. It's the reason you can not run and charge at the same time.
They are Caldari weapons and they always try to find the most effective solutions. So the question is obvious. When are knives better or more effective than knives?
CQC is an obvious answer. Though, why not use a gun at this range anyways? You would want to make the kill fast and abrupt and stealthy as possible. Alright, but what situations would those be?
Some targets come to mind; taking out snipers, equipment, heavies, people hacking points, people waiting for vehicles, people at turrets. All of these targets would be easily desposed of by a quick killing and stealthy weapon.
So if you find yourself constantly flanking behind stationary targets and defending points, equip nova knives. They let you kill people quick and without giving them a chance to fight back. |

Yeah, but that's just it, those are very specific and lucky situations that they were not really meant for.
I am referencing common situations that you can expect to see on the battlefield. |

...all it takes is for one person to scan you and novaknives are impossible to use. i use them for covertly killing hackers and trolling people. never in a serious game or as a serious sidearm. in my opinion, they should be fitted to all caldari assault suits by default along side the player chosen sidearm |
