Get sniped. Oh hae, thanks, now I'm only ten seconds away, thanks sniper! Rarely do I see snipers make a tactical difference. One time there was a CRU we'd taken, but the sniper was covering the space between it and the objective. In that case that sniper was doing effective guard duty. And for myself, I've made an elevated platform full of reds be evacuated by my largely badly aimed controller shots. Didn't have to hit. Some snipers make a tactical difference. But it's hard to tell them from the ones who are just selfish and pointless.

I especially love the snipers that pick off people running in an open field before they reach the objective or kill a team member.

For you and me, that's certainly the case. But I've seen at least one guy that could consistently get close range kills. For someone who can cope with the sway (not me!), the higher power scope on the SR versus the TAR probably helps with pulling off headshots even at short range. If he's more effective with a SR why shouldn't he use it? PS This was pre-1.4, it may no longer be a viable play style with autoaim and improved hit detection for automatic weapons.

Then each starter fit can have their own races AV ect. Also the sniper fit on my race (I don't know about others) isn't suited to the 'sniper' role. How many dedicated snipers use a fit that even vaguely resembling that?. Change the name to 'Marksmen' and give them the equivalent of a Mlt Tac AR and it would suit it better.

There are some snipers that don't just lollygag in the back of maps acting like a total yutz, not caring about their team. But, there are some that are in the back surveying the layout and sniping the lollygagging snipers..and actually help their teammates...there are "blue/redberries" then there are good snipers.
