So I took a break from Dust just after Fanfest and thought that since it's been over half a year since most of the new vehicles and weapons were announced, some of them would be live.
Or at least the suits they had shown would have placeholders.
But on coming back I've found that not a single new thing has been added since May.
No new suits, weapons or vehicles.
Are these even being worked on?
We saw a working fighter at fanfest and there were even allusions to boarding titans but all I seem to be hearing is balance concerns regarding what's in the game currently.
Wouldn't it be a better idea to add what you can in as soon as possible and balance with the bigger picture in mind rather than having to rebalance everything as soon as you add a new weapon or suit?
Will Uprising 2.0 have all of the promised suits, weapons and vehicles from back in May? How long do we have to wait for that?
I don't meant to whine about this, but it seems like the entire team has been caught up with balancing and not with the actual game itself which might be a good reason for the massive amount of stagnation going on. |

Come back in a few more years.

Wasn't there meant to be a test firing area for testing weapons?
And the ability to colour your suits, lights and laser beams?
This was all a "Really soon" sort of thing.
If they have fired the old executive producer I'd like the new one to actually start to implement content.
Because... What the hell we've been waiting like 6 months. |

Funnily enough when I look on Brandons twitter he hasn't posted anything since fanfest in May.
Has he left CCP? |

Here's the timeline for what happened.
Fanfest: CCP promises a bunch of new content for Dust 514. Dust 514 Launch: Uprising is not as big a success as CCP expected. Many people and review cite faulty core mechanics. Little while after launch: CCP fires executive producer CCP Jian and shifts focus to fix core mechanics, while ignoring content. Months later: CCP hires new executive producer, CCP Rouge. Promises to bring content and work on EVE/Dust link. Today: Still waiting.
CCP Rouge did say he plans on letting out a bunch of details during some presentations at EVE Vegas 2013, which is this weekend. |

Lol, you don't know CCP.
Soon means 10 years to never. CCP overpromotes their "vision" for what they want, not what they actually have ready to go.

Blame CCP Jian. (Brandon Laurino). He should take the brunt of our ire.
2.0 will be called something other than uprising, new eden stories evolve. |

What gets me is that I was an Eve pilot for 9 years.
Knowing that this game will take the same amount of time before it's even remotely done is ridiculous.
I just hope the new guy in charge gets things rolling soon. |

I wouldn't expect this game to honestly get fully together (all suits, vehicles, etc.) until a year from now, at the least, but the advantage of this game is that we can all sit back, and play while we get SP and wait (albeit a long wait) for the game to get good.
Until then, enjoy the ride man; All in my local area, there are no shops with Playstation 4 pre-orders available, so I may just stick in for the long haul. Besides, the games coming out on PS4 look practically the same as the PS3 variant. If that is so, why not just get a PS4 this spring or summer (assuming Destiny has nicer graphics on the PS4, and not lowest-common-denominator graphics pasted from Xbox One [that would **** me off so badly]). I don't see why we shouldn't just wait a bit and let CCP do their thing: take their time balancing and working, and who knows what changes might come with the new exec. director. |

I very much doubt this game is going to last another year.

Yeah I was fairly certain when Laurino was promising a million things at Fanfest that they wouldn't deliver on most of those things anytime soon. He was just building hype. |

The announced all that cool stuff, and then the players started complaining about sticking to walls, not being able to hit people, their hits not registering even if they did get the aim right, lag, more lag, low frame rates, lockups, falling through maps, not being able to figure out how to not respond to a Corp mails, constantly sending empty mails when you intended to just start writing, having chat channels filled with nothing but LFS, not knowing when that guy typed LFS because of lack of date stamps, having trouble coordinating with other players because there was no DUST time clock in the Mercenary Quarters, and many other annoying little issues.
So CCP decided to focus on the core game and the interface for a while. I do expect we will get most of that stuff before next Fan Fest though. Probably through the winter. Possible as you suggest, with the next expansion. |
