So I took a break from Dust just after Fanfest and thought that since it's been over half a year since most of the new vehicles and weapons were announced, some of them would be live.
Or at least the suits they had shown would have placeholders.
But on coming back I've found that not a single new thing has been added since May.
No new suits, weapons or vehicles.
Are these even being worked on?
We saw a working fighter at fanfest and there were even allusions to boarding titans but all I seem to be hearing is balance concerns regarding what's in the game currently.
Wouldn't it be a better idea to add what you can in as soon as possible and balance with the bigger picture in mind rather than having to rebalance everything as soon as you add a new weapon or suit?
Will Uprising 2.0 have all of the promised suits, weapons and vehicles from back in May? How long do we have to wait for that?
I don't meant to whine about this, but it seems like the entire team has been caught up with balancing and not with the actual game itself which might be a good reason for the massive amount of stagnation going on. |

But they said "Soon" before Fanfest even hit. I remember one of the devs saying that the minmatar weapon was good to go and would be in the game shortly.
What the hell happened? |

Wasn't there meant to be a test firing area for testing weapons?
And the ability to colour your suits, lights and laser beams?
This was all a "Really soon" sort of thing.
If they have fired the old executive producer I'd like the new one to actually start to implement content.
Because... What the hell we've been waiting like 6 months. |

NURSE EDNA wrote:Go check the Twitter account. @ccp_rouge is the new executive producer.
Funnily enough when I look on Brandons twitter he hasn't posted anything since fanfest in May.
Has he left CCP? |

CCP overpromotes their "vision" for what they want, not what they actually have ready to go. Ready to go means the same thing GÇö 10 years to never.
What gets me is that I was an Eve pilot for 9 years.
Knowing that this game will take the same amount of time before it's even remotely done is ridiculous.
I just hope the new guy in charge gets things rolling soon. |

I don't meant to whine about this, but it seems like the entire team has been caught up with balancing and not with the actual game itself which might be a good reason for the massive amount of stagnation going on. I wouldn't expect this game to honestly get fully together (all suits, vehicles, etc.) until a year from now, at the least, but the advantage of this game is that we can all sit back, and play while we get SP and wait (albeit a long wait) for the game to get good. Until then, enjoy the ride man; All in my local area, there are no shops with Playstation 4 pre-orders available, so I may just stick in for the long haul. Besides, the games coming out on PS4 look practically the same as the PS3 variant. If that is so, why not just get a PS4 this spring or summer (assuming Destiny has nicer graphics on the PS4, and not lowest-common-denominator graphics pasted from Xbox One [that would **** me off so badly]). I don't see why we shouldn't just wait a bit and let CCP do their thing: take their time balancing and working, and who knows what changes might come with the new exec. director.
I very much doubt this game is going to last another year.

Fox Gaden wrote:The announced all that cool stuff, and then the players started complaining about sticking to walls, not being able to hit people, their hits not registering even if they did get the aim right, lag, more lag, low frame rates, lockups, falling through maps, not being able to figure out how to not respond to a Corp mails, constantly sending empty mails when you intended to just start writing, having chat channels filled with nothing but LFS, not knowing when that guy typed LFS because of lack of date stamps, having trouble coordinating with other players because there was no DUST time clock in the Mercenary Quarters, and many other annoying little issues.
So CCP decided to focus on the core game and the interface for a while. I do expect we will get most of that stuff before next Fan Fest though. Probably through the winter. Possible as you suggest, with the next expansion.
This implies that their entire team is working on bug fixes.
That's a poor way to run any video games company. |
