and that is why it's even allowed to have an eve-dust isk transfer, you don't need economics knowledge to know that that will literally break this game's economy.
First of all, is this actually in the works? Do they have a plan to make it so that people in eve can actually give money away to people in dust? If so, think about this people on eve with billions, some I'm gonna go ahead and guess have trillions, being able to give any amount to dust players...how much could a billion isk buy in this game? How many thousands of items could people buy on the market and then just give away at will? At that point what would be the point of using anything but the best gear all the time? I don't think I have to get into what happens to this game after that. |

It's planned and I can't recall what their economist said in the fanfest video but the jist of it was it'll be heavily taxed. |

Current thoughts are to implement a transfer tax or something similar so that a a billion transfered from Eve would only be ten million or so. On the whole though, a mixed economy will adjust and inflate itself for Eve currency and there's already people in this game with several billion isk. |

So the plan is to make eve currency worth less in dust? I don't get it but if they have a plan that doesn't involve just opening floodgates then fine lol, I just don't want it to get to the point where I'm sitting there trying to make a profit while everyone who has any connection at all to EVE can just proto spam all the time, because at that point I would need to find a sugar daddy just to function in a game that dragging its heels to begin with, no thanks. |

Personally, I'm all for just allowing the chaos that transfers between EVE and DUST514 would cause and letting the market balance itself out. |

Don't worry about it. I can give you a few reasons why.
1. CCP's Eve Online has the strongest and most robust economy in the entire gaming industry. It is so balanced that even the developers of Guild Wars 2 tried to emulate the same system for their game.
2. CCP has ten years of in-game economic experience.
3. CCP's current plan is to merge both the Dust and Eve economies in phases rather than all at once. The transfer tax is only the beginning. It's a long process that will take several years to stabilize and many more years to perfect. After all that, if the economies of both games reach a state of equilibrium in which the value of ISK is barely different in both games, then the tax will ultimately get phased out of existence.
It's a solid plan and it will work. |

Lol I was under the impression that they were just going to open the link and there were gonna be billions flowing in, there's no way to sugarcoat that, if they have a plan then that's fine, I know about their economic background but with with the stuff they've done with THIS game, I honestly wouldnt be surprised if something like that happened. If they have a plan that isn't that then go for it and I'm sure it will work. |

I'm quite sure that the Icelandic CCP office is in firm control of the economic side of the Eve-Dust link.

There are far too many problems with that idea. Firstly, it requires items to be player made. That's also going too be needed at some point, but without that you just have a neverending stream of stuff from EVE that makes the EVE players completely dominate. Secondly, what if you don't have an EVE character? That restricts you to relying on match payouts. If the player made items are balanced for EVE levels of isk, then contract payouts won't be nearly sufficient to cover even an ADV suit.
The market, in its current incarnation, is completely incapable of 'balancing itself out'. |
