I got into one of those matches where there were no enemies the other day.
It was GLORIOUS.
Suddenly, 15 of us were cranking out dropships, tanks, and LAVs, zipping around, and generally having a good time. Sure, a few left, but the rest of us had a good time.
What's particularly important was that there was like five or six dropships in the air. It was pretty clear that we had a range of pilots, from good to bad. I loaned my ADS to a squadmate who never had a chance to fly one before, and he was happy for the opportunity.
Wouldn't an open, non-combat map be a good thing? It's not like you can practice anything anywhere in this game without being shot (I was recalling my ADS from under cover beneath my MCC in one game, and it got rail-sniped, for example). Giving folks a chance to practice, find ranges, and learn some basic skills would be a great asset to the game--Not everyone enjoys trial-by-fire!
Heck, if you really went all out you could put a practice range on it, but that doesn't even appear necessary. Just no enemies and no friendly fire, on a regular map. |

Yup.
Weapon Lab perhaps could be this?
Hope so.
I to managed to get into one of those games, and I had a blast with my DS. |
