they need to be nerfed down the damage but up the fire rate for balance or Buff dropships hp because one forge gun shot and down goes 500,000 to 800,000 dropship. I am tried of a forge gunner sitting on a tower and one shotting my dropship before I can even leave the ground CCP fix this or dropship are pointless to have in the game. I know tons of dropship pilots that quit the game not because they are raging just see not point to waste time on something CCP needs to fix but don't care about it. another point when light airships come out a militia forge gun will pop it will not any problems. sign this post if you agree with this. or tell me a better plan for CCP |

Dropships still have a point, to get the forge gunner up to that tower... Sadly anything over militia is a poor investment without after burners, and a good forge gunner renders even ones with that mod useless. |

Wait for the vehicle changes that are coming. Presumably, AV will also be looked at, but CCP has yet to reveal anything beyond the changes that vehicles will be experiencing. |

forge gunner could not get on the tower without the dropship but there would be no need to if dropships were out of the game. |

forge guns are not just for dropsjips so nerfing based on 1 aspect would be silly. Inagine basing all weapons DPS on how fast it takes out a scout suit? |

I'm a pilot too and if your dropship only takes one shot of a forge gun then you should stop flying. My dropship can take a hit from a proto breach and keep flying but I agree forge guns are annoying but I can't go into that too much because I am a proto forge gunner. Lol |

Lol true if your an armor dropship you can take 2-4 hits and fly away but shields cant I have 4200 shield plus 770 armor and one forge shot has took to less then 500 armor & yes I get away at times but still one shot from a proto railgun tank don't do that damage plus 10-12 proto forge guns are the same as one dropship. but a forge gun on a tower that is an assault fg can hit a dropship 3 times under 4 seconds. all I am asking is 1 of 2 things 1 is less the damage per shot on gorges but up the fire rate or 2 a buff on hp dropships they are a medium of airship. if you think about it the light ones wont even be able to take a single shot from a basic forge gun or a swarm and the heavy ones wont has the speed to get away from swarms or forges. so what can ccp do to keep dropships in the game? or come up with something better to help solve it. |

We need to get more creative than just "nerf the forge" or "buff the dropship." I think the true answer will lie in countermeasures or changes in mechanics to the game (some of these ideas came from Judge Radamanthas, look him up on YouTube).
Limiting the vertical pitch/aiming of forge guns.
Like tanks, this means forges can't look directly upward. The idea is to give forges the advantage of surprise (being infantry and allowed to be virtually anywhere), power, and range while giving the dropship the advantage if it is up close (much like the sniper-assault relationship respectively).
Secondary bonuses to active/passive modules
This means electronic warfare like effects for using active and passive modules. Different ones can have different types, but here's and example: Shield Hardener: when active, gives 30% resistance to shield while also reducing swarm launcher payload by 33% and increasing forge charge time by 50% within 50-75ish meters for 15sec (the numbers are just to give an idea; this goes with the theme of AV= advantage long range most the time and dropships= advantage up close for a short time).
Counter measures
These are modules strictly for countering AV. Things like chaff or flares (though I've heard the animations would be difficult), sensor jamers, cloaking, etc. One I've been kicking around is a module that allows you to soak the energy from a forge/rail shot and add a percentage of damage soaked to shield hp for.
Notifications
These are image warnings that tell you if you're being targeted by swarms or the let you know a forge gun is near and charging. Judge Radamanthas has a very good video illustrating this ingame.

How the hell you want to get a warning system when the forgegun is aimed manually and does not have a lock on feature. This would be just as effective as flares against a RPG. And the last time ive checked it a RPG is dumb fired and ignores countermeasures completely. |

Dropship < Forge-gunner < Sniper < (assault) Dropship
I play as forge-gunner, if you learn to pilot your assault dropship well you'll be my worst nightmare as like as the snipers are. And remember dropships militia are almost useless but dropships without afterburner it's waste of money. (sry for my english) |
