Update 21 : 9:37 p.m. 10/10At dawn this morning I reached out into hope. An with my pleas for compassion a bright sun rose for my family.-áMandy and I met with a team of doctor's today. I prepared to hear news that I knew would shatter me at my core. Much to my surprise an pleasure, that was not to be the case this day.Weston is suffering from internal hemorrhaging. Bleeding in his lungs an abdomen along with acute renal failure (kidney failure). This is the culprit forcing the doctors to have given him 17 transfusions. They believe that because of his damaged kidneys the bleeding has continued. The kidney is interrupting with the functions of Weston's platelets. He is having problems clotting. Now the good news is this. Doctors believe that Weston has shown progress. Positive progress. They are comfortable giving him support when needed(transfusions) and letting him fight to recovery.-áThe kidney doctors believe that the degeneration of his kidneys has stopped. They think that if he can manage to continue to produce urine an recover, that over time the bleeding will stop. Over time he will regain some kidney function. In hope, they even suggested that he may regain all kidney function.-áThe only negative thing said today was that the doctors are concerned that Weston may have sustained brain damage during the ordeal. Lack of blood an oxygen to the body may have caused some damage. They are not saying it as a definite yet though. They are concerned because of the lack of movement from Weston these last few days. They are hoping that it is because of the morphine an are in high hopes that as the morphine wears off Weston will begin to show more signs of awareness. They also hope to ween him off of the ventilator this week.-áSo in reality. If Weston can avoid sickness, keep his blood levels stable with support from doctors that he will grow, that he will LIVE. Weston is fighting, we all know that. He is fighting an gaining strength from all of you. Your prayers are keeping my family so strong. Please continue praying.Today was a very good day.
thats the latest one, keep them prayers coming, thank you |
