Hello DUST Community, I just need a quick explanation.
On the AMARR Sentinel DS, you get:
5% reduction to weapon feedback damage per level.
What exactly this means? And please use simple words for your explanation.
Thank you very much for the help. |

When your laser or scrambler rifle overheats and blows up in your face you take less damage than people in other suits |

that means weapons that overheats and deals dmg to you will have that dmg reduce.
meaning laser rifles and SCR will have its overheat dmg reduced to you.
so as a heavy it is quite pointless to skill into a sentinel suit due to the fact that no heavy weapon overheats. |

Thank you.
So if I understand all you responses, this bonus is useless?
First of all I did not know that overheating a weapon will give me damage. Second of all I really never overheat.
So the only real bonus is the 2% fast reload.
Thank you community for the explanation. |

As the others said you will take less damage when overheating Laser and Scrambler Rifles. The HMG can overheat as well, but you don't take damage when it does.
The Amarr Sentinel has this bonus because in the future there will be an Amarr heavy weapon that will overheat and do damage to you when overheating.
The bonus sucks for a couple of reasons.
1. We don't have the Amarr heavy weapon currently, which means it's a worthless bonus.
2. Even if we did have the Amarr heavy weapon, the bonus would still be worthless because you shouldn't even be overheating in the first place, so the bonus will have no use.
Edit: Well, actually I forgot that this is in fact the bonus for all the races Sentinel suit (for when we get them), which just makes the bonus even more worthless. The Amarr Sentinel currently has the reload bonus. |

The sentinel is still good to skill into because it trades highs for lows over the default heavy frame, but that bonus is pointless. |

Yeah, really unfortunate.
I'd rather have a 5% increase to jumping altitude per level :D |

Thank you community for the explanation. NO it may well be useful later when the Amarr Heavy Weapon is out.
Our suit bonuses directly affect the heat of our weapons which is great. |

I wouldn't say the sentinel is useless. Basic for offense, Sentinel for defense~ The bonuses are a bit meh but who cares~ |

Thank you community for the explanation. just think of it like this, viziam does like 200hp when overheat? a proto heavy laser would probably kill a regular heavy when overheated if you didnt have this skill to 5 |

the sentinel bonus is there for when the Amarrian heavy weapon gets implemented, but at this point who knows when that will be
if you are going heavy, just use the basic, dont waste the SP in sentinel until there are more heavy weapons |

The 2% sentinel reload bonus is per level, so 10% at level 5, right? Because the in-game description doesn't say anything about "per level" - just says "+2% to heavy weapon reload speed", which suggests it's 2% total. Every bonus on every other suit says "per level". |

Just a static 2%. Caldari assault used to have that style bonus to hybrid weapons. .. but with out it being per level it's kinda junky. |

Handy for the SCR rifle....you don't HAVE to use a heavy weapon all the time, you know.....in fact, a Sentinel with an Assault SCR is a bit of a beast .... |

So at level 5 you get feedback damage reduction (=useless) and 2% reload? Compared to +25% to shield recharge and +10% to shield extenders for Caldari Assault. Unbalanced, like elephants and ants on seesaws. |

IMO the sentinel skill should give a 3% reduction to incoming damage per level The Ammar sentinel skill should give a 3-5% reduction to heat build up per level |
