CCP ignore more than 99% of all these threads, so why waste our time :D may as well go to the general thread and moan about how many awesome ideas we could implement that will never happen because CCP are completely inconsiderate towards their community :)
PS: if you are thinking of challenging me on the "CCP are completely inconsiderate towards their community" comment, I hope you got a damn good Dust lawyer to argue your bull for you |

1. There considerate because the game only costs $60 like COD err I mean free like something you don't pay for 2. Reading and commenting are very different, if the commented on every request wed get mad that they don't add it fast enough or that they thought our ideas bad |

More than 99% is practically 100%. And CCP does not ignore 100% of these threads, click on the 'Dev Posts' tab right below the 'Feedback/Request' title of this forum. It can shed some light on your 'statistic'.
2. This is a feedback/requests forum. It's irrelevant to say that it's a waste of time to post feedback/requests in a feedback/requests forum. |

Over the past 2 years I have seen more ideas from players implemented than any other program or game on the market be it free or paid for. CCP is listening and watching, I'm sure that they are making lists of who wants what and how important each thing is. In fact they care enough about your input to send surveys out about what is the most important thing to work on at regular intervals so that you can and should respond with some feedback be it negative or positive. Let them know how to make things better and they will based on the majority of user opinions and how feasible an idea is.
I could point out each nerf thread that was followed up with an adjustment to something and I could also point to every buff thread or new module thread (reactive and feroscale armor for two examples) where player have requested and CCP has come through. Dust514 is a constantly evolving game and I am sure that it will change again, hopefully in a positive manner, at next patch.
You are right though, shooting reds does make me feel better about my day or week, I encourage every one to pick up a weapon and go shoot someone today. After all that's why we play this game right? |

No, Xaviah... Don't modify your dropship thread. Just try to be mellow. Some of the posts here are right---CCP DOES go through the ton (aka BILLION) of posts here, and try to consider them all. But, let's face it... SOME of us are just AWFUL at expressing our thoughts in a way that is PURPOSEFUL, USEFUL, UNDERSTANDABLE, and INVITES ASSISTANCE.
It's like a job interview sometimes... if you REALLY WANT the person to consider you for the job, you have to take all the basic communication lessons they taught you in school (stuff you always thought was corny, old and ********), and present your ideas in a harmless, non-sucking-up, non-BS-brownnosing, but non-"Dude I don't give **** if you hire me, your whole fart establishment just BLOWS anyway" style. I don't care what the age of some of us here is... some of us are just impossible to respond to or to accept ideas from. LOL, and the ones who fit this description don't understand why they don't get anywhere with their requests?
I train in DS alot, so I try to read most of the dropship related Feedback/Requests... they tend to be SO subjectively-presented and spoiled in dialogue that they "read" like tantrums from ballerina prima-donnas... I try to admire fellow DS drivers, but it's so hard sometimes... It as if there's just too much "Pilot" vanity in us. Yikes, how can anyone 'adultly' respond to THAT much vanity?
In reaction, I DID post a single "Dropship" thread a month back, which tried to be calm, and just give a few general visibility needs that I thought MOST DS players can't easily disagree with.
Patch 1.5 actually DID implement THREE of the ideas from my post (could be coincidence, could've been my presentation style, who knows): * My thread suggested they keep the DS fully visible (about the same open space as an Audi in a two-car garage), thrusters visible no matter what the maneuver your'e doing; * I suggested the camera's vector was too far forward of the ship for everyone's comfort and should be further experimented with; * and I suggested whatever new camera controls they try should never lose the importance of a 'downward-front' view.
Their experiment in 1.5 DS is easier to enjoy than 1.4's DS (for MANY of us, not ALL). Some players have already explained this better-- 1.5 is more Navigation-friendly and less Combat/Assault-friendly, but "transport" seems to be what CCP wants as fundamental in dropships... ...but honestly it will take a week of riding this surfboard to draw a fair conclusion.
And I love that the devs almost always try to fix it with something "new" rather than give up and just restore the "chromosome" or "pre-uprising" versions to pacify folks. That takes guts--so ROCK ON, CCP!
In the meantime, if you're not entirely happy with the way CCP DID respond to at least ONE dropship feedback thread... it's ok.... you can just blame ME. The name's CELESTA AUNGM. That's C..E..L... um, E... err...

I'm sure they're itching to do something but just don't want to go back to Precursor, missile raining indestructible aerial bricks of doom levels of effectiveness. Hence the vehicle overhaul coming up. I just hope that overhaul addresses the right problems... |

Wow, Vyzion... I didn't find Dust until the last Beta, so I missed Precursor, etc. Were dropships really as nightmarish as that in Precursor? That dangerous to the enemy?

Excellent advice on communication. I'd like to add another example - when I made the armour megathread according to these guidelines, CCP did come through. It wasn't perfect, but it happened. |

In a few of my previous posts, I tried by best with presentation and readability. Even a tiny "taken into consideration" from CCP would make my whole day. I didn't get a response however, and I felt ignored and angry, so I took it personally and make a few anti-CCP threads. just venting of some gamerage. I mean, those forge guns are just tearing our tech to pieces, no? why haven't they hinted at even looking into that problem. 1.3 million isk can be taken out by a single breach forge, thats not fair, is it?
maybe I'm just childish and pedantic, but I still play this game the best way I know how. And that is the way of the pilot so maybe one day, us pilots will get our "1.5 shotgun massacre" buff and we'll rain down havoc and mayhem once again. until then, keep on working it at CCP. You'll get it eventually. |

We used to drop them on friends and enemies alike as well as fly around squishing people on landings. They are much harder to pilot the same way now with adjustments to HP and audibility made possible by requests for changes. What you see now is the result of previous abuse of DSs and I expect that CCPs got some really interesting ideas about how to fix both the issue of low health as well as cost. Invariably the DS is the most maneuverable vehicle in Dust and as such pilots need to pilot it like a racecar with nos or they will explode. Don't cause any sparks and it's ok, light up a smoke and you're a goner. I expect when the vehicle patch comes in there may be other more maneuverable vehicles that can compete with the DS for speed and maneuverability and may explain why they want to pull them out now. |

You know, I pilot an ADS a lot, and I get worried when my shields dissappear. But we aren't supposed to be invulnerable. AV is supposed to be scary. You have to be willing to keep moving, hold someone in your crosshairs, and dodge. If there are several AVers around, then you are just screwed. That's how it's supposed to work.
The communication commentary was quite correct earlier, but I think the key thing to realize is that CCP has a limited number of people. You will probably never be responded to, and probably only sometimes be read. The more often you post a problem with a potential solution in a way that doesn't get you dismissed out of hand, the more likely you might see a change--but being polite doesn't make your idea one that is feasible.
Hopefully we get warnings about being locked on to, or chaff, or something. Meanwhile, load up on available active defenses and I'll see you in the skies! We will do battle! Until we both get shot down by a breach forge when we aren't paying attention. |
