I only have the cala's submachine gun so...... Anyone know the stats of it? just a quick answer is all i need.
PS: didn't CCP say we would be getting modules that increases salvage rate? |

yeah, but CCP don't do anything other than fix bugs all day :) we can expect that 200(never) |

Then again, they did say that Quality and type of salvage will also potentially differ based upon the planet you fight on, with rare gear most likely found on nullsec planets.
So.... who knows when we will get it :(

I'll have a look when I'm on later. I remember being disappointed when I first received them though. They're basically a "stable" officer SMG. Same for Balac's sniper. |

I have over 300 officer items from beta on this char alone.
79 calas smg s and 47 Thales to name two types of them, and thats just this char.
Thales will be sold for 100 million each and I'll be playing the market to keep it that way in conjunction with a few others. |

"Stable" as in the stable variants of equipment: same stats with lower fitting requirements. |

every match i get in that is almost over (last 1or2 minute of a match) nets me random salvage. ~90% of matches im in that im in the full match, nets me nothing.
anybody want to track what matches net you salvage and keep a running thread? id say if ten or so people keep tabs on it for a week or so, we could get a decent idea of what criteria nets you salvage.
we just need to set a standard on what needs to be tracked. (macth length, kills and deaths, win or loss, ect.) it needs to be things that can be tracked at the end of a match, so you dont have to make notes on every match, as most matches net nothing. |

this is just one of many BS/broken/misleading statements from ccp and ive already got a rough draft of when salvage is received. its just my numbers are subject to error with such a small sample of matches. so this is why i was asking for help, to increase the sample size to decrease the margin of error.
thanks for responding though, it helps spread the word, with the "word" being, salvage isnt a random event based off percentages but predetermined criteria you must meet to receive something. im 90% sure ive figured it out, but proving something requires 100%
if you believe that quote, then ive got a bridge to sell you.

Tricky part is not - everybody get equal chance to get stuff- but word ... 'participates' :)
As every salesman stays to saying 'truth' .. first part is true, but at second part you never know, and CCP can have it keep in secret ;)

I play a little, my salvage is I think spreaded in normal mode/state. Loot table can be static, but this does not mean that every item have equal chance to drop. I have more thales sniper rifles then balacs ar. (about 2.5x) from drops and most my games was at same fit and one wepon sets. If your idea is corect... I never will be get of some loot. An this is not true because I think I got every officer weapon (from actual loot table).
This is a reason to drop this idea of gathering 'data'. Maybe latter when CCP shows us 'real' loot drop system. |

Maybe latter when CCP shows us 'real' loot drop system. i was thinking about this a little more and had the idea, what if what you have sp in (or dont have sp in) could mabey effect our drops. i stupidly put most of my beginner sp into sniper rifles, and at 7.5mil sp, have yet to get a thales or balac sniper. but i have 0 sp in forge guns and get one in my drop about 1 out of every 4 drops.
i like testing stuff like this to "calm" my ocd and squash the numbers constantly running through my head. (sports stats help too) but the more ideas i think of ( that sp idea) the more complex these recording charts become. thanks for letting me run my ideas by you and for constructive response
