Right, so I want to fight for the Gallente in the ongoing event. So, I deselect all other factions under Factional Contracts, leaving only Gallente. The matchmaker places me on the Caldari side, two matches in a row. The first one I back out of. The next one has me listed as Caldari in the team rosters, but over the blue MCC bars it says Gallente
Oh well, I figure, maybe I'm fighting for the Gallente after all. I finish the match, my team wins. I note the name and location of the region and check it in the star map. The Caldari owns it
The prospects for finishing the current event challenge seem rather bleak. If I...
- get placed on the team I'm not asking for
- and can't even be sure which team I'm fighting for
...how will I ever be able to keep track of my progress, much less actually have time to play enough matches to finish it?
The match I played to the end was here: The Citadel - Isoma - Oto - Oto IV - District 11. It finished some time around 13:05 game time. My team won by MCC destruction. |

There's a bug that says your fighting for the opposing team but when in battle your chosen side should be blue in your top left hand corner before deployment.

Ah, ok. So the MCC health bars are the definitive confirmation about which side I'm playing for. Cool, thanks. What I don't get, though, is how the district we fought over could belong to the losing side right after my team won the battle for it. Oh well, as long as I get that victory counting towards my event goals, I guess it's not that big a deal. |

I just checked and confirmed that you are listed as having played for Gallente in a match that ended: 2013.10.09 13:01
I can't really check any further into it right now, such as why the map showed one way or the other. There is a good chance it was due to caching or something along those lines. You were on the Gallente team though. :) Game Designer // Team True Grit http://twitter.com/regnerba |

I could be wrong, but I think winning the game does not automatically switch the supremacy, rather makes it easier for EVE players to claim it (like I said, I could be wrong )
Regarding the team roster I know there was a old bug I thought was squished in 1.2 which makes it look like you are fighting for the wrong team (Need to check the patch notes). It had to do that in MCC you could be listed on the defender (red) side, but in game you were always on the "blue" side, and somehow the corporations / faction titles were in the wrong place. Either it has resurfaced, or it was only fixed in public contracts and not faction contracts. Worth investigating... Oh, by the way, I have also seen it myself several times recently. |

Thanks for the info, everybody
While I'm on the subject: I had to quit a match (due to RL interfering), within the first minute or so of the match. Does that count as a loss? |

Hi Void!
We had the same problem yesterday and today. Noticed it a few times in the warbarge. Pretty strange. The roster bug impacts folks individually. Half the squad thinks we're fighting for the wrong faction ... the other half thinks they're fussing for nothing 'cause everything's straight on their HUDs ... squad leader swears up and down he's not an idiot and indeed has us in the right queue.
Everything appears to straighten out on deployment. We're checking the same place your are (above MCC health bars). Glad to see CCP confirmed we're OK. o7 |

Ah, come to think of it, I was in an FW match last week where one guy insisted we were on the wrong side. I guess that was this bug.
I'd love to join in on one of those scout Gallente FW squads - what time do you guys normally run? Are there normally enough people for more than one squad? |

It's been hit-and-miss. Check in channel for availability. The Squad Finder has come in handy filling those open slots :-)

You were on the Gallente team though. :) This is been going on forever. As long as I have been playing FW there is a good chance the war barge screen's version of the players list will show the wrong side. Once in battle it is correct, every time that I have seen the situation as such.
It is just a UI glitch and, until this event, was obviously a low priority problem. Maybe a note in the release notes on the Update screen would reduce the number of posts. |
