SALVAGE 1.0
This game mode open a entire map to exploration. Multiple teams of 6 can spawn in via the contract menu. Up to 8 teams (all from different corps) of 6 can be deployed to any map at one time. Game mode is opened by a timeframe that lasts during a 20 to 40 minute window which is the timeframe the battlenet can lock on to a location to spawn your members into a salvage area. Public salvage areas contain low tear rewards.
Salvage is big money, or no money you don't know who is on the map with you as battle feeds don't report most information. In salvage your battle net has limited functionality so team killing is on and kill feeds limted.
Objectives :
A salvage area is a super sized map spanning sometimes difficult to navigate locations, pits, traps, ravines, etc. I'd like to say our current maps but without the small area confines. The salvage area contains hackable objects which are not shown on the map that can be only found via scanning or if your are close enough your suite can detect the object. Since the entire map is open, lavs and drop ships must be used to find the salvage items.
Once a item is found it could, we could have any number of ways to unlock it.
- Unlocking is done by hacking.. Or hacking a sequence of items to unlock isk reward or salvageable items.
- Hacked items could be boobie trapped with explosives, orbital bombardments or other various traps.
- Once unlocked items such as vehicle salvage, Weapon Salvabe,Modules and isk rewards. Some hackpoints must be held on to until extraction to claim the reward or multiple RDVs land to retrieve the items.
Game Play:
Squad leaders joining the match can select the initial spawn location on the map. Once the spawn location is selected the default battle network wormhole bridge cannot be changed to give another tactical advantage. Spawn ins will happen for the remainder of that match only at the location. It will be possible to use spawn beacons or CRUs if they deployed on the battlefield.
Hardcore Corp salvage rules :
Corp salvage rules are contracts offered by NPC corps to extract important containers from the battlefield. Sometimes these areas are littered with perks such as extra weapons or suites for completing the contract. Unlike public salvage areas these contracts can only be accessed by a corporation officer with the correct rights.
Hardcore salvage is for extraction in areas outside of normal spawn deployment which allows for the wormhole bridge from the spawn locations to access and deployment of weapons.
Hardcore mode, you don't have access to a supply feed from your personal assets. Corp officers need to setup battle packages which are shipped to the salvage location containing corp purchased battle supplies. Hardcore corp mode needs to have weapons, dropsuites and equipment stocked before deployment by a corp manager or a preconfigured battle package. Once deployed your equipment is deployed to a mini command center camp selected at initial deployment by the squad leader.
Squad Members can only restock from the fittings combinations which are available on site. Be sure your corp manager packed enough Heavy Guns, LAVs and etc. Hardcore Corp Salvage has a restriction on BPO suites where the base item must be deducted from deployed stock of items. Example is the 'Toxin' AR needs to have a Assault Rifle present to deduct from the corp stock on the battle field.
Corp gets a set isk payment for the number of salvage points obtained and players are paid via extra containers hacked that are not the primary objective. Sometimes transport ships crash and leave behind quafe and such along with the secrete Caldari Navy reports which need extraction. Also in the future if eve side items are found they will be moved to a corp hanger at the corporations main office.
Special Circumstances :
If you destroy a enemy salvage depot or overrun a camp the deployed items will be added to the loot drops. So it's possible to loot a enemy team camp if it is not protected.
Team bases can deploy countermeasures such as a shielding generator to prevent long bombardment of the base. Turrets can be deployed inside the shield to protect from mounting forces near a camp. These shield generators can be turned off and on via hacking. It's possible for a scout to infiltrate a camp and disable the shields.
Team bases create a damping field around the base to prevent enemy radar from picking up RDVs and Off Map Support Structures to show the camp location. This field also detects enemies and alerts the team of enemy proximity but not enough to show location.
Possible off map support items can be deployed if purchased in the Corp Battle Package. This would be at the digression of concord and the corp managers.
Looking forward to playing Salvage 1.0 and would like your input on what we can do to make this happen for Dust.
Please stay tuned for updates or changes.
I know this might be to much to take in solider, but it's your decision if the risk is worth the reward. |

This would be a pretty awesome way to implement PVE. I'd like to see come Rogue Drones in there though!
I particularly like the idea of overrunning enemy encampments. I wonder how quickly we would see Pirate Corps plundering PVE miners? |

The idea is to open game play to enforce it's not just one side against another. It's a bunch of groups fighting or stealing from one another. We been doing the same gameplay for years.. I am going to start a "Salvage Dust" campaign to see what needs to happen to get this implemented into the game. Give us a big map and let us explore what is possible in dust.
Also, once this game play is implemnted we will start seeing the long range speculated Minitmare tanks. I'd like to know how many people would step up to kickstart a game mode of this caliber. |

I'm not sure if this is entirely the best way to do it, but I'm ALL for an interactive salvage system!
So +1 Regardless! |

Never played Arma 2, Not really a first person shooter guy. Just a dust convert from eve.
N'Rante, if you remember back in Beta when you could get exploded and fly off the map? The mapped seamed so much bigger then the accessible play area. Lets open it up and have some fun. |

Only thing missing in that video is how the mining drop ship gets blown up by some random people just hanging in that area, also I think eve lore says that whats in Veldspare can't interact with the atmosphere. . |

Yes bump, You know I'm reading Templar One right now in my Kindle. (It's on sale and a great read). I like how the Minmatar used salvage to make MTACs.. Hint Hint.. Nudge Nudge..
Also, this is a all call for artwork to help promote Salvage/Exploration added into th gameplay sooner then later. Looking for supporters. |
