Does anyone else think that being able to use this function to broadcast a message to the team would be more useful than team chat? Obviously it could be abused, but maybe if it had some safeguards it could be really useful.

Only for squad leaders with more than 3 people in squad would do the trick. |

I wonder if it's possible to program a double tap of the current PTT button as team broadcast. That would be a realtively simple approach that leave current fuctionality by simply pushing down the button to talk to squad. |

Of course, you would get on-screen indication that your mic was broadcasting to the team after double tapping the PTT button. |

This would mean that everyone is ALWAYS broadcasting (at least to squad) and that could be a problem if that player has a lot of feed back.
@Jadek This could work

The problems inherent with a team broadcast function is it must be open and ready to be functional, and, openness of channels is most certainly going to be abused. There will certainly be that one guy who blasts his jams through comms.
Thankfully, holding down the PTT is not conducive to reacting quickly in firefights. Although, MCC afk warriors will have no problems with this.
The floor is open for people to discuss whether an feature in the options menu could be set to automatically mute all Team Broadcasts except players added to your contacts. |

I agree that it could definitely be spammed and abused, but if we could come up with a method to limit that I think this could be very useful. The squad leader of larger squads is a good idea. They are much less likely to abuse it and are also more likely to have something useful to say to the team. |

Supported. I've lost track of all the times I've had to stop, Select, flip voice over to Team to try to coerce BBs to do something, and then it'll only reach the ones who aren't in squads. Squad leaders should be able to comm with each other (especially if the team size ever grows from the current 16v16) and the randoms not squadded. |

But would this mean when you're in a squad you're receiving from both the team and the squad? Could definitely be annoying.
I think just a faster way to switch from team to squad chat would be more effective. Perhaps change PTT to
1. tap to mute 2. tap again to switch to team chat. 3. tap again to switch to squad chat. 4. back to mute.
If PTT is turned off, tapping the key will only switch between squad and team chat. |

useable only by squad leaders, useable only in PC battles. all players can hear teamchat from squad leaders but can only talk to their own squad. Squad leaders can talk to all players. Maybe even give a rank were you can talk in the chat without having to be a squad lead, assigned by the platoon leader |
