The first week of every month (specifically when the latest patch escapes) you are supposed to log in and find out what game DUST has changed into over the lunch break in the server room. First remember to fix the Suit Fits that are no longer valid (vehicles soon), make sure you check that the specifications for something you spent time and possibly cash into has been modified ... again, then try and play. Assuming you can get into a match, if Scotty doesn't have to step out for a brew and if it all functions then find out what they have changed. After that you can decide if you want to play or wait it out until the Next Patch. Just like the rest of us.

I guaranty you, that is only very few people that have the ability to impact a battle with tactics, and score a high K/D ratio. The more elaborated the tactics is, the less time you have for killing.

Given CCP's approach to similar questions in EVE, i'd say they have no opinion, other that to say 'find a corp you fit well with as soon as possible', perhaps. I suppose the more empirical way to look at your question is twofold: what actions do they reward with WP and what actions do they award with SP? That could be a long and contentious discussion. But to think about it crudely i'd say that CCP rewards good Logis and slayers for infantry, since those two will typically be at the top of the WP board. I'd say with vehicles they reward only slayers. Conversely, the bonus for winning a match is very small. I take this to mean CCP rewards tactics as opposed to strategy. I think it's also fair to say that they don't attempt to distinguish between self-serving tactics and team-serving tactics, and it's hard to blame them, since it would be very hard to sort that out. Note that for FW we'd have to make a slightly different analysis and for PC a different analysis again, which leads me to think that the thing to focus on is the connection to New Eden, as opposed to the WP/SP formulae. And in the end, that's why we're all here, isn't it? Because DUST and New Eden offer something far more meaningful, and far more real, than all the other FPSs combined.

It's get to objectives, get them first or sit in the red because taking objectives back isn't ISK efficient. The core principles are always going to be wonky, wear good gear, take less risk, so you stay in good gear. 18months ago I'd ruck on objectives. These days if we don't get objectives first, it's Proto sniper suit. Obviously this applies less in PC, but is still relevant.

Because all I see is MLT guys dying in 1 second flat and having to shoot consistently for 3-4 seconds into a proto guy. It's either stack your suit, upgrade your HP and go to town or die instantly. Some matchmaking would be nice.
