A dedicated ground-attack VTOL aircraft.
Whatever game you want to use as an analogy, I believe this game would benefit from the replacement of the Assault Dropship with a vehicle filling the role of attack helicopters such as the AH-1Z or AH-64D, in the case of the US Military.
You could keep a similar handling model if necessary, because the ADS actually handles quite well, but a dedicated Gunship with some sort of body-mounted weapon for the pilot, and a turret mount under the aircraft for a secondary gunner would add some fresh new gameplay, and fill a role that our vehicle set is currently missing. You could even have the turret slot be a Medium one rather than a Small at the cost of making the aircraft weaker as far as defense, for instance.
I would love to see Dust have proper VTOL Gunships as part of it's vehicle set, and I hope that the removal of the ADS, while it leaves this hole open once again, might pave the way for the hole to be truly filled as it hasn't been before. |

I guess that would make it kind of like the Little Bird idea (aka BF3 light transport helicopter) I suggested in another thread. it would be neat if it had its own model, though. |
