Listen the merc pack was a sweet deal to entice players to try out Dust. It was meant for the new players. To have them squared away quite nicely.
The aurum amount sucks but hey, its not like it isn't to be expected when the mercenary pack was really nothing more than a "hello welcome to the Dust beta" pack. |

be in mind that the tactical pack is angled towards new players, as it includes the client with it.
having the skills to use most of the gear, none of this appeals to much to a old player

Yeah that pack really has a whole lot of nothing! CCP seem to be wanting to inflate the value of the ISK based consumables which is ridiculous as we're all so used to burning ISK that it has absolutely no value any longer, the only thing worth buying with real money is AUR and BPO's.
I really hope they bring out a bunch of different $20 usd packs though, one's with BPO choices and more variety.
OR it's a marketing ploy to make the current Merc pack look absolutely incredible (and it does) compared to the new Tacticalame pack so all of the "fear of loss" consumers rush out and buy 20 Merc packs before they expire. |

Well I honestly wouldn't buy anything at this point because I feel like I've already paid CCP plenty for the almost a year of enjoyment I did get out of the game, but even if I wasn't fed up with CCP and Dust there is no way I would pay $20 for that. To me the only things aurum is good for is buying boosters and a 7 day booster and 2500 aurum is ridiculous. |
