((Yes, this could be considered a standard RP thread. And proper discussions is allowed to enhance the knowledge of Amarrian traditions and life))
The Amarr majority value the empirical experience that comes with age, in combination with a vitality that enables longevity. It comes down to a certain degree of status. There are even reports of youths that wear make-up to appear older. With the holy documents discribing the Sacred Flesh, one can understand that the Amarr value life more than any other race in the cluster - as in not foolishly embracing the cloning technology without a second thought.
The vast imperial city of Dam-Torsad has an interesting social culture and is famous for its collective communion.
There are also several documents on nobilities, wealthy commoners and other people worth taking into account when studying the Amarr way of life.
Furthermore, the Speakers of Truth concentrated on building a reputation as an outstanding educational establishment, offering both a private curriculum for select children of Holders and a free education program for those children of Commoners who showed promise. The Holder program gained them obvious popularity with the ruling classes, and eventually led to strong backing by those who had graduated from the Speakers' schools and risen to high public office. The Commoner program, meanwhile, had a strong focus on religious studies, making it all the more popular among the lower orders within the Holders, who embraced any societal function that served to keep the Commoners obediant and faithful.
Lastly, there are studies that show differencies between Amarr and Gallente youths regarding drug-use. The sermons was brought to public attention by the Praetorian Archbishop himself some time ago.
"Social culture" or "youth culture" is considered an everchanging tradition in the Empire. While the majority may go about as they would, there are always new approaches one could take to look upon these situations. I recommend you take contact with the Amarr Civil Service if you need any more detailed statistics on the Amarrian way of life. |

Damus, anxious to search for materials on his book, overhears Steady asking for information on how the faith is seen outside the Empire. Walking up to the Templars, Damus takes out a document and hands it to Templar Twelve.
"Hello gentlemen, my name is Damus Trifarn. I am here to acquire information on the Amarrian faith as seen from an outsider. I couldn't help but notice that this fellow researcher was looking for the same kind of information."
Turning to Steady, Damus asks, " I don't mean to intrude on your inquiry, sir, but if you would be willing to share any data that you find with me, I would greatly appreciate it."
Damus gets a puzzled look, as if he forgot something. A few seconds later he beams with remembrance.
"Ah, yes, the document. That is a reference to this fine collection of data, signed by the Director of the Research Division of the Anmatar Library. The letter is merely a list of my credentials to assure you of my academic credibility and validity of my reasons for being here. I understand the Amarrian perception of the Minmatar commands caution when you see me, but I assure you, my purposes for today are strictly academic. You see, I wish to compile data for a book on Minmatar - Amarr relations from a Minmatar's point of view. To do this I will require some information on how others see the Empire, and I will use that to compare with the view of Minmatar society, hopefully spotting patterns in foreign behavior towards the Empire."
Waiting for the Templar to finish reading the letter, Damus sits and, pulling out a sketch pad, begins to draw the architecture of the building.

The Paladin Templar approaches the amarrian soldier and listens to his request;
steadyhand amarr wrote:"im sorry to interrupt iv been tasked with reading up on the history of the faith do we have anything on how the faith is seen outside the empire" speaks steady in a oddly firm voice
He then notices a matari entering the temple grounds. Scanning and clearing the minmatar for any sorts of weapons or signs of violent behavior, he nods and listens to the self-proclaimed ammatar;
Damus Trifarn wrote:Damus, anxious to search for materials on his book, overhears Steady asking for information on how the faith is seen outside the Empire. Walking up to the Templars, Damus takes out a document and hands it to Templar Twelve.

To do this I will require some information on how others see the Empire, and I will use that to compare with the view of Minmatar society, hopefully spotting patterns in foreign behavior towards the Empire."
Listening the questions and looking through the document handed over by Damus, he ponders for a short second before starting:
"Outside relations with the scriptures, in which you both seek knowledge about, is more complicated than just discribing the relations others view the Word of God. The Word, or the scriptures, to foreigners are often intertwined with their subjective view of the Empire as a whole. The situation is both good and bad, depending on the ongoing relation one has to the Empire." ... "The Caldari way of life is quite easy to understand. It has been centered around the idea of achievement through hard work. Their overall manditory military service has served them well in keeping this ideology, while some still cling to "the way of the wind", a sort of old caldarian spirituality which also contains "The Maker". Through this, many Caldari find the Amarrian way of life and the true Word of God quite easy to comprehend, and not a big leap from their own ancestral ideas. "
"The Gallente Federation on the other hand, does include quite a growing numbers of believers, but still hides the facts in their politics. It doesn't make it any better with their view of democracy as one has to take the matter to down to an individual level seen to their way of life. They concentrate their values on the indivudal, turning a blind eye on the holistic viewpoint - the whole cluster. A bigger concern is their liberal viewpoints of drugs and likewise substances, which all contribute to a large proportion of the Gallentean people that remains chained to their way of life, unable to grasp the world outside the Federation - in other words; The scriptures and the wisdom that comes with it. There has been times when the Amarr and the Gallente has seen some reason; such as when the great Emperor Heideran VII got the Aidonis, the symbol of inter-stellar peace and harmony.."
"The Minmatar Republic has been deeply affected by the Federation in ways I just mentioned - clinging to old beliefs while being subjugated and imprisoned by their own made-up ideologies. And while there are a growing number of the matari, except the Ammatar, people who actually sees the light of the Word despite the absence of the initial reclaiming efforts, the minority of the minmatar people who live in the republic is still subjects that need to be rescued from their heretical views."
... "As said though, the Word and the Amarr Empire as a whole is often viewed as one. In recent years, due to reports of initial increased tensions between the Minmatar and Amarr, also resulting in the war that their leader wanted, brought only more martyrs on the scene for the minmatar to greif or find hatred towards the Empire, and in this further cloud the republic views on the Scriptures."
"... Until the Amarr ends the on-going war against the heathens, I fear that martyrs and other false beliefs will be a part of the cluster in a large scale. It is our collective work to see to it that the true Word and the golden history of the Amarr reaches the eyes and ears in the very corners of the galaxy. This, may even be your path - Looking straight at the Matari, then reciting words from the scriptures: "I give to you the destiny of Faith, And you will bring its message to every planet of every star in the heavens: Go forth, conquer in my Name, and reclaim that which I have given."
Found in the Book of Reclaiming 22:13.
I hope this brought you some deeper insight of the situation. If not, do not hesitate to ask anyone else in here. If you wish to go even deeper, I would like to forward you to Theology Council and their vast knowledge of the Word and its relations. " |

Damus, taking notes on Templar's references and insights, thanks him for the information.
"This will be quite useful for my book. I will be sure to come here in the future for any other inquiries; the quality and quantity of information here is staggering.
"Now, to answer your questions as to what my beliefs and views are:
"First and foremost I am part of the Minmatar Republic. I understand this causes confusion considering I came on behalf of the Anmatar. Allow me to explain: I was sent over to the Anmatar by the Minmatar as a means of establishing connections between the two groups. We wished to open up academic communication to understand Amarrian life. Our line of thinking was that some of us have believed the faith, so we want to know how it has blended with their Minmatar roots.
"This offer was accepted by the Anmatar Library, who saw this as mutually beneficial; the Anmatar can understand more of their Minmatar roots, and the Minmatar can understand how the faith can be implemented into Minmatar life.
"As for my personal beliefs: I have some questions on the Amarrian faith, so I'll leave those for later. As it is now, I see the Amarrian faith as a system that, while cohesive, has a few flaws that I've noticed over the years.
"If this revelation makes me unwelcome, I'll leave now. If you want to inquire of my concerns, feel free to do so. I've had dealing with True Adamance before on this issue, but I wouldn't mind having a discussion with any of the respected Templars working here."
Damus begins drawing the building again, seeing that it will take the Templars some time to recover from shock and collect themselves for whatever course of action they decide upon. |

Without hesitation the Paladin Templar is seen moving his right hand hovering above his scrambler pistol, as he talks in a crude but calm voice:
"If you are a enlisted soldier fighting for the Minmatar Republic, in other words - killing our brethren on a day to day basis; you will leave this place now. I may have dignity, and even some sort of respect for another soldier's soul, but know that I will not hesitate to call on the station guards, nor throwing you out myself, and eject you out into oblivion - should there be any problem. "
"If, on the other hand, you have proof of this "cooperation" with the Republic and the Ammatar Mandate, and that you truly are an emissary for enhancing the knowledge of the Faith within the Republic, I may just change my mind..."
The Templar then reaches for the hilt of his amarrian nova sword on his back with his left hand, as he changes his stance.
"... What do you plead, Matari?" |

Damus looks at Templar Twelve, then at his luxurious sword. Damus flips a page of his sketchpad and begins drawing the design of the sword.
"Quite a nice sword; the designs would be excellent for a decorative pattern in my home. You see, my fiance is in a coma, and as I travel the universe I draw anything I find beautiful, and when she wakes up I am going to show her all that I've sketched, and we'll decide where to live and be together, and how our home will be built."
Damus, finishing the sketch, quietly puts away the pad and pen. He speaks as calmly and peacefully as he can, choosing his words carefully.
"Now I hope that bit of small talk has calmed your mind. I hate the conversations that arise with a mind bent on aggression. I do not mean any trouble; you've seen that I have no weapons, and I completely lack the means to begin a fight when I'm obviously outnumbered and lack a elegant nova sword. You've also seen my letter, and my credentials: contact any of them and you will be given the confirmation you seek.
"I plead nothing, Templar, but I state the obvious; I am a soldier of the Republic, and it takes no genius to guess by now what my mind is harboring. Kill me and I will be nothing more than a body to clean up, ultimately a wasted effort on your part to eradicate an enemy. I would not only a wasted body bag, but a terrible hostage, for all you could learn from me is how to shade properly on a Matari leaflet with Amarrian pen.
"In light of that, your assertions do not frighten me. I've been 'killed' before; once more will not trouble me in the slightest. If the fog of instinctive aggression has cleared your mind, you will realize you are presented with an intriguing opportunity: you have a Minmatar citizen in your collection of vast religious documents. I have agreed to have peaceful discussion over the Amarrian faith, and you have ample backup from Adamance and Steady should you be left without answers, not to mention the documents in here that can give you plenty of references.
"So, you have two choices: you can throw and not only go against everything you work for, to convert my 'barbaric' race to your faith, but also ignore the peace attempts for the sake of knowledge. On the other hand, you can talk to me and maybe even convert me, proving the mercy of your beliefs. I already know the rules of your philosophy well enough to know what your response should be; what it will be remains to be seen."
Damus, mentally relaxing after his best attempt at diplomacy, hands his notes to Adamance.
"I won't take your academic property if you deem me unwelcome, so here are my notes. Maybe the Amarr can at least benefit from the intellectual processes of a Matari if a mutually beneficial decision cannot be made."

The Templar had resumed his normal stance, as he turned away from the Matari, only to pick up his hand to his earpiece comm, obviously listening to some sort of transmission. He answers in amarrad, out in the open air, to an end-to-end communication. After a while, he turns back to the matari with a somewhat calm approach:
"You are free to dwell in these halls, matari. The temple grounds are supposed to implore His knowledge and wisdom, not stand as yet another battleground."
"Know also that we have no need for prisoners or to interrogate your kind. We already know what we need to know. Although I must say; I do not envy your approach on death and what it ultimately means, as in your saying being "killed once more doesn't trouble you the slightest". I will give you the luxury of a personal recommendation, that you read through our archives of the sacred flesh and contemplate on its meaning, even though you might not understand the essence of it. And beforehand, I would like to clarify that the belief of the sanctioned flesh is not entitled to the God chosen Emperors only."
"You have our permission to continue asking questions and documenting our public history and Faith."
The Templar turns, and before he walks away, without looking at the matari, he says: "Your presence and activity is monitored, Damus Trifarn. We knew you the moment you entered the Empress-¦ station and stepped into these sacred halls". |

"The hypocrisy is so inspiring. Great material for my book from that conversation."
Damus looks at Steady and smiles, then speaks in a lighthearted voice, as if he became close friends with the Amarr.
"Come now, don't have such an expression and grim outlook, we've avoided a bloody mess and can instead focus our research! If you require more information before you help me, I'd love to answer some of your questions. I will be writing my book and researching while you ask questions, so forgive me for a delayed response. I wish the best of luck to you in your research!"
Damus, now exceedingly eager to write, begins to write down a recent idea he had for his book and hums to his favorite Sebiestor tune.

I would bow to your fine words, but to get to the important part - PIE nor myself would see no reason in starting up a library that would cover other the history of other races, since Amarr history is considered fact and is the deepest and most important of them all. Meanwhile, me and my librarians are of course trained and learned in the other races history, especially Caldari history. If you would have any specific questions about their history, I may be able to enlighten you on some theories.
The few heretical scriptures or other history literature we have may be found in the halls of the Reclaiming.

Greetings, and welcome to the Praetorian Library. As you enter the temple complex, you are directed through the Great Hall, this is considered the central part of the library. As you can see in the schematics described above, you may enter any of the public halls and dive into the knowledge they incarnate. If you have any more questions, just ask. |

He places the stylus on a rather thick holocodex and presses a button on top the stylus. He waits for the projector to pulse orange. He does this to a few other records and then sits at a table.
He twists the stylus, producing a tripod base. He positions it on the table infront of him. He makes multiple hand signs and his glasses read them. Infrared is now activated and his glasses change from a deep red to almost clear.

Before 12 could answer raven handed him a box with order 3: Templar5 written on the top "Answer there" Raven said pointing to the box containing a password for a Neocom channel Raven walks over to the anmarti and picks up the notepad from it's owner's hands and looks though it and hands it back "Great skechs"
The librarian looks at Raven and takes the box, staring at it for a long time in silence before walking away to attend to another visitor.
