Its a terrible weapon the Amarr used to burn and brand Minmatar slaves with. Over time they decided to use it as a weapon to instil fear into the former slaves and boosted it into a fully fledged weapon. The slaver scum never got too close to the Matari slaves, hence its ability at range only. It was said that should a slave or rebel approach you , too close to be burnt effectively by the laser rifle, it is the DUTY of an Amarrian to fight to the death in ritualistic hand to hand combat! (Btw I made that all up)

Definitely officer equipm...hmmmm that's not right. Officer flaylo...drat. In reality I do love Gatsun's forge. 6 shots, larger ammo cap, as much damage as the assault forge, charges faster than the assault forge, and it can even hold a charge! 6 shots is just awesome though. Normally I have to land all 4 shots with my assault forge to take down a bolas...but if I miss one with the gatsun's I can just keep firing with how fast it charges up. Not only that but you hardly ever have to worry about reloads. If you can land all 6 shots on a tank it's dead no matter how much HP it has.
