You can also cancel the last second or two of the forge gun reload by sprinting forward, but you still get the full reload. Minor, but amusing.
Assault Forge Gun OP though, not sure why you'd ever use any other. |

Since I never leave home without my LAV, the being frozen in spot is irrelevant. I can reposition, use the LAV as cover, and basically only die if I'm unlucky enough to get hit by another breach forge gun while driving

I seem to own the **** out of tanks if I hit them with their back turned. |

Just yet another in a long list of reasons for never carrying a forge gun without an LAV nearby. What kind of weakness is low mobility and a charge up time when you can pop your reps, hop out, and have incredible pre positioned cover as you line up your shots?
If you use the BPO like me, you can usually use the LAV as a distraction for bad tankers, letting you toss an AV nade or get that first shot off before they see you and stop shooting your empty LAV. It's glorious really. |

Assault Forge Gun OP though, not sure why you'd ever use any other. You can do that with every gun. Oh snap burgers |

Not the back. yup back of a tank, hood of LAV, derpship has a weak spot too ;) (not that its needed, but yes there is 1) Thrusters, for anyone that's curious. (Sorry to spoil the fun) And pilots, this is why we don't stabilize our flight pattern too often, always by rotating or twisting a little, dipping and rising, always try to mix it up and stay aware of your surroundings. The camera view makes it hard to watch for assault dropships, so listen for nearby missile explosions, or a missile impact.
But yea, this is why good gunners are actually a really ******* valuable commodity, because you can't usually just "park it" and hover there. New dropships might be able to for a little, but typically speaking that is death right there, so having a gunner that can compensate for the ships movements AND not shoot the ******* GOD DAMN MCC!!....yea...stupid blueberries, killed my train of thought.
Good gunner = happy pilot |
