Someone complained about the forums and shooting mechanics. That's what I've been saying since day one how the hell are you supposed to retain this playerbase with trolls, no proper tutorials, HTFU's and core/shooting mechanics? This isn't EVE, now CCP you need to HTFU and get old players/new players on here for this goes off the deep end like MAG. |

No but not everything needs to be approached with the "Got mine, fck you" motivation that seems to bloom in QQ thread about their weapon being nerfed. There are things that are needed to help the game itself that will not always involve you or directly help you out. |

I would have liked to see a story-based tutorial on the battlefield fighting scripted NPC's. It could be simple, but engaging. Have players:
- switch weapons,
- understand shields and armor scan profile,
- sprinting/stamina,
- grenades,
- hack an objective,
- hack a turret and fire it,
- hack a supply depot and change fits,
- get in a tank, blow up another tank with a swarm launcher,
- use a variety of other weapons,
- drop a nanohive & uplink,
- run an active scanner,
- remote rep an NPC,
- get in a dropship and shoot stuff from the turret,
- jump out of the dropship onto a platform and use the inertial dampener.
etc.
If they wrapped all of this up in a story (maybe it starts out as basic training, when your facility gets invaded by badguys and you're forced to fight them off). It should be a tour that highlights most of the interesting stuff that sets DUST apart from other FPS games, while explaining the game mechanics. Implementing this should massively improve new player retention and be very profitable for CCP in the long run.
This is a subpar effort imo. |

As a matter of fact, it does. The more new players who stick around to fund the game the more likely it will live. |
