So I was on a few mins ago and going through the market I found out that the AR is the only weapon that doesnGÇÖt have an assault version, this came to me as a funny note nevertheless I keep looking at the arms and noticed that the AR Is the only weapon which fully automatic version (aka Exile, Gek, Duv; not the rupture variants) is cheaper and by so is used more often than it's variants, let see for example the only equivalent.. the HMG, that in fact is really similar, but the pricing is already more elevated and also SP required, but also needless to say-- it's has the same problem.
So this came up as I was looking at the SMG and Scramblers, where tiers and prices make the user/buyer go to the normal variants (normal SMG, normal Sc pistol, normal ScR) given the prices (for example, the proto normal ScP "Viziam" cost 10k while the assault proto version cost the double); the only effect this has is balance and makes you go for the cheaper versions for lazyass fits or spend more to gain certain advantages. I think this type of thing need to be worked even more and implemented on all types of weapons, so that in the end the best version of every type of gun is the most expensive. For example rupture weapons should cost less than standardized ones and the most expensive variants should be the ones with most RPS or DMP (which most of the time are mutually linked).
Tolazyasshobos (Devs) = So the point is the relationship between ISK and weapon version needs more balance, in all cases.This could and should benefit the sightseeing of other variants in the bf and improve metagame.
**Also doing some math I found that the AScR and AR are really well balanced with each other; but in general the two need to leave space to other weapons, having crappy hipfire (in both of them) would be a good step towards real balance to other weapons, but they need even more drawbacks (kick, drift, etc; in both of them). |

i dont see your problem?
Scrambler rifles dont have a "breach" variant...
HMG's dont have a "tactical"...
You pay more for more specialised variants of a weapon |

@ChromeBreaker
I have no problem, the thing is I think this is why you donGÇÖt usually see weapon variants; check a bit and you will see the variant are worse than the standard version and even through this they are still more expensive, then they are discarded and almost never (usually) used; and when this is not the case and both are kind of equally effective although with roles well defined then the one with higher benefits or greater features (or more accessible) itGÇÖs the more expensive, resulting in that variant being a little less used (letGÇÖs take the ScR and AScR for example, or even the ScP and the AScP). |

Rather than address your point too much, I'll just point out that we're apparently going to have some community-wide discussion over the weapons (that would've been released in 1.5) and balancing them against range/damage and general stats. We'll see how that turns out, but if it's going to involve the missing rifles - the variants and standard ARs may be shifting around a bit anyway. |
