I see a lot of people talking about nerf for the foge and others who opose any such call, but i have an idea that can solve the whole problem and make everyone happy. How about instead of nerfing the forge ccp should rather balence it with another heavy weaon type or 3 later on down the road.
Curruntly we only havethe hmg and forge currently but I prepose that ccp add 3 other heavy cannon type heavy weapons to the game along with 3 other hmg like weapons aswell all racial ofc . This would bring te most balence to this issue without nerfing anything.
However the forge gun is a beast of a gun and Im sure if ccp decides to go with this idea tho others will and should have same killing power but, all of these guns should cost a little more than they currently do, and if your now getting mad after all that good ness i just metioned above wait hear me out.
Advanced forge guns are euqal to a Std railgun tank turret, Pro assault forge is 2x an Pro railtank turret damage outpout wise im just preposing thak Pro cannon type heavy wepons cost more than they currently do mitila to avanced dont really need a price hike. All Pro cannon type wepons should cost at least 200k I think but thats just my opinion.
CCP i hope you guys think at least about my 6 other racial heavy weapons idea, it would be awesome for sure. |

This is only true in Alpha Damage. If you compare the charge times, DPS etc, and consider that the Rail Turret is on a tank, which has much greater survivability than a Heavy Dropsuit, you will see this is a gross misinterpretation of data. |

Also, CCP is working to get the other weapons/drop suits out (although, they might try to pre-nerf them). Many of us agree that we should wait for these before calling for a nerf. Plus, if you understand rail tech, you would know the Forge should do more, but it is good where it is at, even with it's heavy nerfing already. |

You forgot unlimited ammo since it is being compared prior to 1.6. |

The main way they should balance the forge is by making non-ladder accessible roofs inaccessible by dropships. Tower forging is the only real problem with the weapon at present.
I'd also like to see the current camera shake during charge removed, as this gives tryhards with custom crosshairs on their screen an unfair hardware advantage. Kerosiini had a good idea, which was to make the screen shake actually affect the direction of the projectile (i.e. it doesn't just go in the middle of the screen regardless) so a custom crosshair wouldn't help. |

I love the Forge gun but one simple fix I came up with a while ago was take away the splash damage - make it like a big powerful spike rather than a explosive munition.
That was it's still effective vs vehicles but to kill infantry it needs a direct hit, which, understandably from that thing - would kill in one shot anyway.
Thoughts? |

FG's will get nerfed on infantry. Only a matter of time.
By time I mean when / if heavies get a viable long range weapon that they can use effectively against infantry. I mean that would make sense no? But this is CCP after all, so they might nerf it, and not bother giving heavies a ranged weapon. |

A proto heavy could easily cost someone closed to 600000 isk. But the heavy also did its job and no one wanted to get in his path if they did that the heavy would go extinct because of how weak it is and if you think other wise then where are the heavies I remember seeing a lot more before this build oh thats right they moved to logi since heavy weapons are garbage. |

My opinion, the heavy equipment should be more expensive already. I suspect it will be more expensive once the market opens up, since even if the materials are the same manufacturers just won't get the economy of scale they get from making assault equipment. At the very least, the prices will vary a lot.
That's just one factor. I think the forge could cost more regardless. (Being someone who buys forge guns.) |
