Having already Everything aV related at proto (except plasma cannons,/ Lv 4) i've decided its time for me to increase my chances of destroying tanks while using my corp for Blitzkrieg style assaults on them. (at least 3 people with proto AV ) The idea is to be able to ''park'' behind a tank close enough for it to be unable to escape us. Considering how Fast tanks can be , the only way to mantain constant damage is to follow it,there by, LAVs..
Im speccing into LOGI LAV,s considering the hardeners and boosters + speed i think this vehicle could AT LEAST gets us behind the tank without getting killed.
Now , the questions are:
1-Is the ACtive scanner worth it on an LAV? Does it detect tanks? 2-How does Torque affect a LAV? 3-Wouldnt it be better for this purpose just stack Damage resistance and active damage resistance to get to the tank and then after the tank is done call the LLAV back? (this way saving the slot for a shield booster or armor rep)(i dont mind loosing LLAVS, i just mind not getting to the tank) 4-Is there any ''small'' turret weapon that can be equipped on an LLAV that can HURT a tank at least a little? 5-What would be the price around for an LLAv that can whistand enemy tank fire for a decent amount of time?
Thanks in advance. |

Scanners can pic up havs. If your running a 3 av team go for a damage resist brick tank lav to recall afterwards. Missile turrets work well on tanks and the torque is how fast you get up to top speed so worth it for geting behind them quickly. |

1: active scanner is very useful love them.
2: it boosts only the acceleration. You don't need them however, as it has enough torque anyways.
3: Assuming you're getting the Chary, do the passive. It works better from my experience with them (limited, as I don't play on that alt much). However, if you're doing Limbus, go active.
4: If you want a quick damage, I know I'm going to be trolled, but compressed rail. It does for some reason work. Tired it with a intern, and it worked. Sustained damage however, and you'll need to get a missile, particularly a accelerated one.
5: By decent amount of time, what do you mean by that? average time that I kill LLV's in is around 5-7 seconds. That's with them driving towards me. |

Anyways, it's not very useful for smart pilots, as they will see you coming, start driving away, and shooting at you at the same time, roasting your LLV and everyone inside. |

1- Yes it detects everything except scouts I think 2- Torque is Force times radius. Your torque really effects the LAV's acceleration and ability to go up hills. 3- Resistance Mods maybe a booster. If you're going up against a blaster HAV don't get too close. Blasters will shoot the drivers out of the LAV regardless of hit area 4- Small missiles are your only way to go. If you are nice and close go for cycled. If you are kind of far away go for accelerated Small Railguns are supposed to be AV but for some reason there is a reduced efficiency that reads to somewhere around 40% but it's even lower than that. 5- Don't know you find out. |

You helped me make my LAV. I'll take care of sneaking around tanks. Its a shame thou, that the active scanner DOES NOT show the direction the tank is facing : / |

1-Check! 2-I know what it does i use them in my tanks! didnt know if the difference with LAVs was important, now i know tY! 3-Im not shure,i might use CHary 4-Im still decinding between Rail and Cycled Missiles 5- Decent time? I think i was refering to around 5 seconds after the tanks sees me.

If the HAV spots you, either bolt, or make your stand. Bolt, and most of you will survive. Make your stand, all of you and you LAV will probably die. If your good, you might survive. |

Buy yourself a militia missile launcher and militia railgun (20GJ of course) do a test on which does more damage per second and per hit. You will quickly find the Missile Launcher superior, in all cases, infantry and vehicles.
Also, remember that LLAVs have a 50% damage reduction to their turrets or some number like that.
EDIT: Some people have rumored to make Proto 20GJ Compressed rails work but even then you need proto and proto missiles would be better regardless. |

Thanks in advance. 1. I'm prob the most bias person out there so ima say yes . It does detect tanks.
2. Torque would be better filled with something to increase survival chances.
3.Do active resistance if your armor stacking passive is shield stacking.
4.Do not use a small turrets av will do much more. So use a turret that will benefit you the most. Meaning use a turret that will free up the most pg/cpu or whichever one you need.
5.The price should be around 80k-200 depends on fitting (off memory haven't used them in a while). |

Unless he bolts I would say its not really a major factor what turret you run. Would say a missile.
. 1 if he still and not seen you. your swarms, forge, gernades, plasma cannon are going to do a hell of a lot more damage than your turret.
2. missiles on the move are more likely to hit your target than a rail for some odd reason. But with the logi lavs 50% reduction to damage of small turrets its more of a sting than real back up av.
As someone said if your good with the module management go for the armor lav and use active hardeners. Or you prefer minimal multi tasking go for the shield llav with its passive. Just take into consideration that most tanks on the field are blasters with a plus against shields.
Either way its going to take 1-2 million sp for a decent ish llav set-up.

Just put 2 forge gunners in that LLAV and the fit will be irrelevant
I do just fine with my BPO LAV and just my lonesome, vehicles need some love :/ |

we usually go around 1 proto Forge gunner, Me with Proto swarms and Lai Dais and one dude with Proto Plasma and Lai dais. Belive it or not sometimes (rarely)a tank just activates everything they have and start running away real fast, thats why i want a turret to keep making damage while we persue....And an LAV that takes some damage.
Anotehr question.Scout LAV's dont have damage reduciton on small turrets? but (i have never used LAVs ) isnt then the speed and firepower of the Scout LAv more suitable? Or are they really htat crappy...? |
