Besides the obvious scout and racial bonus....has anyone used both of these suits and found a noticable difference with them in the field? how do they compare when it comes to stealth (profile), fitting options, etc. .............and pls no theorists just ppl with experience with both suits |

All the differences they have are listed in their stats. That's all there is to it.
Light frame is cheaper on SP, more expensive in Isk. The scout has reduced scan profile & improved passive scanning. |

the suits are 100% identical, only you don't get the racial bonuses on the Light Frame. And the Scout suit is cheaper. There is no reason to use Light Frame when you have a Scout equivalent. |

(sarcasm on) Thanks cass i couldnt figure that one out by myself ! (sarcasm off)
with that said, while i appreciate the input....id prefer the responses come from experience pc players who have used the suits and not noobs on starter corps who had just learned to read the item decription and who i massacre on a daily basis on pub matches.....thank you.. |

Hahaha scouts and PC...
Yeah they are the same man.. Every suit kinda has this option. I guess I'm a theorist though
Oh and Ps... It looks like you are the noob on a starter Corp? Not really sure where you're going with that last one. |

Obviously you dont know what your talking about.......Scouts in PC fulfill very good AV roles not to mention uplinks and ninja hacks....I squad with a few of the best scouts in dust in pubs and in PC daily and they kick ass.......the only reason i posted this before asking them directly is i wanted to consult the wisdom (and now apprent lack thereof) of the forums. Pardon my frustrated posts, i was expecting thoughtful answers. |

Well, the light frames just look cooler, but that seems to be the case on most Gallente suits for some reason.
Honestly, just being harder to detect is worth the extra SP. |

thanks cody...while i agree the dampening is very useful. even with the recent passive scanning changes .....proto scouts still get bugged and get detected when next to objectives or installations regardless or dampening skill.......so it seems like an sp sink right now :( ....im hoping for a proto scout input on this |

Lmao, are you for real OP?
Can I ask you what kind of difference you are expecting? The suits are identical, bar price, scan profile, and scan radius. That's it. There's nothing more. A proto scout isn't going to tell you anything different because there is nothing else to say.
Wow. |

I've only just got my proto not too long ago, so I can't give you the best input, but even at level 4 I would still always get "SCAN PREVENTED" about 80 percent of the time.
I haven't done the math, but at proto and with profile dampaning skills to 3-5 you should be able to hide from advanced scanners with no mods on. |

thanks again cody my only concern with that is its far easier to get a proto scanner than a suit that can resist it :(
but then again non gal-logi guys will suffer in terms of fitting when they put proto scanner. |

Yeah it's tough, but it's still easier to avoid a proto scanner with max skills and one mod then any other suit. |

I've only been successfully scanned once since I got scout level 4 and dampening level 1. That gets you below advanced scanners. Hardly anyone runs proto scanners because they take up so much CPU/PG but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them in PC matches.
As for the technical differences between the proto light and proto scout, there are only 2 reasons why anyone would ever choose a light over a scout: 1) Save 1.5 million+ SP 2) Look bad ass (the black light proto is far more awesome than the plain looking proto scout) |

yea i must admit the black one is kick ass and cheaper sp which is why im having this dilemma but i also want the effective suit since scouts already have to work alot and low survivability when spotted......but scout lvl 4 isnt a bad idea ....my only beef is the adv gallente scout is 2 high and 2 low lol..... i mean it doesnt seem to coincide with the progression to proto |

I'm personally not a fan, but if you wanna fit a couple of dmg mods and a kincat/cardio combo, that would be the suit. |

The 2x high slots is great for damage mods but the CPU shortage is really noticeable on the advanced gal suit, even with electronics level 5. |

True, the CPU/PG is really limited even with max skills. It's not impossible, but your gonna have to sacrifice. |

As a 20M SP Gallente Scout with alot of PC experience, I would offer that PC is better left to the Medium Frames.
Scouts are fun toys to play with in Pubs, but there exists not a single role a Scout can perform in PC that wouldn't be better performed by a Logi. |

My 618 armor pro light can easily tank in pc battles. I have no problems shitting on the enemy team the only problem is me getting team killed since i rush the enemy and friendlies throw granades. You'll get scanned either way though, it's a PC battle which means proto scanners on the battlefield |

Glad to have your input Roner.....and if u dont mind id like to know how u fit that suit ..and yes i do agree in PC matches......proto scanners tend to come out ......so unless u have proto scout with proto dampeners, highly likely youll get scanned either way which is why i seriously considered just proto light frame with dampener mods (maybe strong enough to get under adv scanners?) |

Not to say this will not change, but it has been the case in Uprising 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 and will remain the case in 1.5. "Dev Hugs" for Scouts are scheduled for 1.6 (November), but will likely be postponed to December or January as Vehicle Rebalance is of higher priority. If you're keen on getting into PC, go Logi and level up your AR, Scanner, and Uplink skills.
Thanks shotty im already very experienced in PC as an assault proto .........and yes i do agree that minnie logis can fulfill those roles if not better... i have just been more drawn to scouts and the ewar invisibility (however bugged it is) that comes with it but i appreciate the input.... i hope ccp gives them love soon |

If you insist on running a light or scout frame in PC, you'll need to stack as many Armor Plates as possible. Plan to die in 1/2 a second when detected; only engage weakened targets; avoid combat altogether where possible; your role is restricted to Uplink and Recon duty.
I'd also recommend skilling heavily into the AR (rather than CQC weapons). A light frame lacks the staying power required to successfully flank attack a bricked Proto Medium or Heavy with a Shotgun. Some Scouts pull it off, but if you'll find their success is limited to engagement of substantially inferior opponents. As a rule of thumb, a PC Scout requires double the SP of a medium-frame opponent to prevail in combat.
There exist rare, situational cases where Nova Knives are effective in PC. This is the realm of the Minmatar. I can only comment on my experiences as a Gallente Scout Shotgunner. Decent in Pubs but a far cry from effective in PC.

Cypher Nova wrote: ps. when you were talking about stacking plates ......do u mean complex or just the enhanced? or do u add some ferroscale in there
I'd recommend maximizing your HP w/regular plates over experimenting with reactive or ferroscale. Card Regs, Dampeners and Armor Reps are good low-slot options as well. |

Here some suggestion i can give you how to use it in PC.
Gallente scout: - at the start of every PC for running in complex with a weak suit with kin kan and card reg + proto uplink - when you know your team is better than the other you can use the scout the entire match easy - sneaking on ennemy outside letter to take the objective and put key uplink unseen - flanker even in complex than outside ( as usual )
Caldari assault: - if ennemy got a lot of MD player and you need to defend/take this area, and against granade spam - when you need to spawn near a letter you already try to attack/ defend since you have more EHP than the scout - When your team is weaker than the opponent you will use this suit more often
