I decided I wanted to try scout after playing almost exclusively assault for almost a year and I had lots of fun. Running around being speedy was just lovely. Especially with a shotgun. Being a MAN and a Gallente warrior, I armor tanked my STD scout with ferroscale and threw on a complex armor rep with a basic shield extender in the high slot.
With the advent of active scanners, I thought it would be great to upgrade to ADV scout and use that extra low slot it gives to put on a scan dampener or maybe a kincat.
But, wait, there's a problem.
IT GOES FROM 1/2 (High/Low respectively) TO 2/2. AND FROM 2/2 TO 1/4. WHAT THE HELL, CCP. LITERALLY ME: http://i.imgur.com/WsvMmDQ.jpg
ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. How DARE you give the master race Gallente (no offense to our Minmatar brothers) such a pathetic slot configuration. Do you think we need those high slots? For what? Damage mods? SHIELD EXTENDERS??? Real men melee their enemies to death. WITHOUT the help of Myofibril mods.
Jokes aside, high slots are for wimps. I don't need another damn high slot I need a low slot to slap on more armor, more testosterone mods, more weight lifting mods, more stamina mods for killing oppressive Caldari and Amarr with your bare hands without getting tired, more justice and freedom mods (and sneaky profile dampener mods), just as any proud Gallentean would.
Scouts need low slots, all the (good) biotics are low. Gallente scouts are supposed to be armor tanked. Yet they have a 2/2 ADV suit. They need lows for armor tanking AND biotics, yet you give them the same slot layout as the Minmatar? My CEO said that this was "Working as intended" according to some thread here on the forums and I'd like to tell you my foot in your @$$ will be working as intended, CCP, if you don't inject a little logic into the Gallente scout ADV.
They should be 1/3 (1H/3L). If you are a Gallente scout and you come in here and try to defend shield tanking a proud, glorious, freedom and liberty defending Gallentean armor tanking suit, you are a disgrace and I have no reason to talk to you. You are a traitor and should switch to the strong and majestic Minmatar or disgusting cowardly Caldari scout when that filth comes out.
Scouts in general should have a greater amount of slots than they do currently. They already have restrictive CPU/PG, and biotics are extremely low PG/CPU in cost. It would only encourage the use of biotics.
Also, a passive armor repair bonus would be nice on the Gallente scout suit as a trade for lower shield regen (regen down to 20 shield/s from 40 and +1 armor repair/s per gallente scout , and this would apply to Amarr scout (when it comes out) as well since they're supposed to be armor tanked too. And of course respective bonuses would need to be made for Minmatar and Caldari scum as well. But I won't push my luck.
tl;dr 2/2 ADV needs to be 1/3 for Gallente. Maybe Minmatar should be 2/1 STD, 3/1 ADV, but I'm not Minmatar so if I'm stupid for saying that, completely disregard that and tell me to just erase this last part, friend.

Yeahhh.... I have to agree... As a Minmatar scout, I know how important the balance between stealth, speed, and health is, and merely looking at the numbers is enough for me to agree.
Another reason for why I could not join you my fellow Gallente citizen, and why I had to turn to our Minmatar brother's technology to get us through. Once all is fixed however... I shall return to join you.

lol not only am I right but I agree completely. I Went to G-scouts after seeing the slot set up for the proto and pre planned my entire road map off that.... and then I finally make it to ADV and see this -.-
I managed to make my go-to fit work with extenders but I was really hoping for another codebreaker. Me wants more hacks!

I don't know how much we have to complain about the slots on gallente scouts (and lack thereof on both scouts in fact but mostly the gallente progression) before CCP takes notice. They've stated that this is intentional and by design but if this really is the case, it is something that requires explaining because by all observations it makes no sense. |

I think it's Gallentes take on a Minmatar scout.
You could put some dmg mods on, but the suit is very limited by it's low cpu/pg. |

Nice post, lol'd a lot on that one.... totally agree as well! We have another post on this that you may want to comment on.... more support for this is definitely appreciated. I'd love CCP to change their design on this and go to a 1/3 slot config for the ADV Gal scout.
Then.... I'd.... actually.... use it. I guess it's good for damage mods, or precision enhancers but I'd much prefer adding an additional stamina, stealth, range or kin/cat. Or repper...

The issue was commented upon during Open beta and I believe Closed beta as well, I happen to think that this allows for some versatility such as damage mods or scanning mods while still allowing for some armor or low slot mods of any type although it does seem a bit odd. |

A side comment, on why I'm sceptical though..
I suspect the reason the suit was described currently as "working as designed", was NOT that it was particularly a logical progression.. but rather, a built in nerf.
If it had 3 slots, then a whole raft of proto users would suddenly have a lot less motivation to run proto. That is to say, people with scout 5, damp 5, would be then able to use ADV suit, rather than a proto suit, with 3xcomplex damp, to avoid the "focused" duvolle scanner.
Their responses to this, for allowing 3-low gallente suits would have to be one of the following:
A) decide "oh well, thats okay I guess" B) nerf damping just enough to keep that limitation C) lower precision stats on focused scanner, to out-scan a 3x damper fit, requiring a 4-damper proto config to outdo it.
Would be really nice to have (A) but I'm guessing result will be (C)

They could give it a scan precision of 0 db and I still don't think it would get much use. If I knew there was a fully damped scout about, I would rather use the wide range scanner than the focused. Should a pro scout be scanned at all? I think once the enemy takes out the focused scanner, we aren't even scouts anymore. All that SP for nothing. We have to waste low mods for this. I know it's only for 5 seconds, but tha'ts enough to get killed.
OP 1h and 3 low on adv would ge great. I'm waiting on those new suits, I'm waiting for our buff. I'm waiting for a better game, I'm waiting for new things to do! |

I agree, std 1-2, adv 1-3, proto 1-4 would make more sense. Caldari should be std 2-1, adv 3-1, proto 4-1.
This would fit pattern of the medium frames and make the diffrent scouts play very diffrent.
Gallente scout would be better close quarter Shot gunner(gallente weapon) and make better use of dampners and codebreakers for infiltration(dampners in eve are gallente specialty).
Caldari would make better sniper(caldari weapon and caldari doctrine stresses long range attacks) with more highs for shield buffer or damage mods. |
