Credit to Sana Rayya for the idea.

I don't think limiting specific equipment to a particular suit class is a good idea. https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1333154#post1333154
It would really fit the role of a scout, since they are largely suppose to be about detection of enemies, and sharing that kind of information with the squad is what a real scout would do. Would also help differentiate the scout from the basic light, as well as making them useful beyond being coffin suits. |

For this to be useful for sniper scouts who wish to point out enemies for their team, the sniper rifle would need an additional effect of targeted enemies staying scanned for a short duration (3-5 secs?) since staying on a moving target is not easy in this game. |

Are we talking actual field of vision beamed as a live feed into a squads' HUD? Because that would be cool, if a little tricky to process visually.
I like the idea of scouts wearing head cams that have a limited active scanner but can display much more information on the targets within their field of vision, and squad leaders can just open up a tab on the HUD that gives them access to the cam. It'd allow for a more "armchair general" approach to squad leadership. |

Meant just whatever they scanned passively will be shared ith the rest of the squad, like how it use to work for all suits before 1.4. Actual video feed would be cool as well, but not sure CCP can pull that off. |

So EZ-Mode could shoot over our shoulder as we sneak up behind on unsuspecting prey? Strongly dislike. When I want to share what I see, I pull out my Active Scanner. Give Scouts two equipment slots and most will do the same. This idea isn't bad, but it isn't a Scout Buff. This idea is a non-Scout buff. If CCP's plans for Scouts is limited to recon runs for EZ Mode, and their plans for "future hugs" are restricted as such, they should let us know now so we can move on. I'd like to think that Dust has room for a crafty Assassin class. No doubt EZ Mode detests the idea of an effective Assassin, but I have faith in CCP's vision ... until such time as they tell me otherwise. - Shotty GoBang * Clarification: EZ Mode = Medium Frame + AR

If you want to make the Scout a Scout, give Scouts back their Chromosome Scan Radius.
It was nerfed, presumably, to encourage Active Scanner use. Once Active Scanners award WP, there will be no need for further encouragement. When that time comes, can Scouts get back their base Scan Radius?

I agree w/ Shotty.
I don't particulary want to be relegated without choice to the role of the mobile passive scanner for my squad. It may not be too bad in organized squads of comrades but in random squads it would just ruin my tactics having a bunch of ravenous wolves that are too lazy to use an active scanner or skill into passive scanning skills following me around looking for kills at my expense.
I'm OK if it's switchable on/off though.

A scout is someone who searches on behalf of his/her army, and then send back the information. Making scouts share their passive scan results would make them actual scouts.
