Hmm. All the comments here are interesting, but SEEM far from what the Veteran DS drivers are focusing on these days.
At the risk of raising conflicts,
--I wouldn't raise hopes about logistic (or any model) dropship gaining speed bonuses or maneuverability bonuses. These are performance enhancements that the Devs intentionally DON'T want you to "inherit" in a vehicle---they want the vehicle to be weak when you first buy it. Modules and Fittings MUST be used to increase survivability--that's what they said they're aiming for.
--(kind of for the above reason) I haven't really expected a benefit in a "pilot" dropsuit. Except perhaps the vanity of walking around in an exclusive looking suit. Since they seem to want our vehicle strengthened through MODULE purchases, I don't aniticipate they will allow the the vehicle to benefit much via your dropsuit. They COULD, but... it goes against what they say they're aiming for.
--I am only a TRAINEE on DS, and yet I DON'T go broke on my vehicle. Not a brag--- some DS Vets taught me, TEST your modules until you find the fit-out that will work on a logi DS... but never USE your full-fit logi DS's in these tiny phonebooth maps, (save the logi's for your all-out PC corp matches).
You need to build a SECOND, low-cost version that you use in the public matches, a DS with the best fittings and chasis you can 'budget'. So when you DO lose it, two easy nerf matches will buy back your DS.
Then, make up for the vehicle's budget-survivability with really skilled finger-flyingl!
...um, the finger-flying is the part I still struggling on... But following this Vet advice, every 4 out of 5 matches I fly, I make more ISK than I lose.
As for CRU use, I thought there currently was WPs for teammate spawn in your vehicle... or something similar. And the upcoming WP for scanner-initiated kills should make DS scanner fit-outs more attractive.
