Do you think the core mechanics (Hit detection, bugs, some other issues) are in a good enough state to add new content both Items (Weapons, Equipment, Dropsuits, and Vehicles) and features (Team Deploy, Corp Battles, Item Trading, Rollover SP, and a better Eve-Dust Connection)?
Yes, Core Mechanics are fine 2
No, Core Mechanics need more work |

I think the core mechanics are pretty good and I would love to see some more new content. Polishing can be done a little on the way. But currently I think the focus of the game is exactly the other way around: Focus on core mechanics and new content along the way. |

Core feels good, Shell features need improving (animation, phsyics) for sure but the game being ready for new content is in a good state. |

Still a few bugs here and there, but nothing to warrant pushing back new content. We're at the point that we need it to keep people interested in this game. Even I'm starting to get bored. |

Dust needs more content even if the core mechanics aren't good. |

I feel the core mechanics are good enough; while they're not exactly perfect by any means they're good enough to stop pushing back new content. Maybe during/after releasing some new things the mechanics can be polished up a bit more. |

Core is definitely better than on release day. I wouldn't put an end to core development, but I'd say it's safe to shift the main focus on content and player retention, and maybe leave one or two CCPberries chained to desks to continue core work. |

Compared to Replication, the E3 build, Codex, Chromosome, and the first three versions of Uprising, I think the core mechanics are in much better shape than ever before. However, matchmaking is still needing some work and PC battles are still suffering lag issues as well as the epidemic of alt-corps locking districts. |

Yes, in the sense it's pointless balancing weapons ect now when theres still alot of basic stuff to come which may knock things out of balance anyway |

Well I think the 'core' as it is so called is in a reasonable state at the moment. There's still minor balancing issues , the scout suit and also shotgun random firing arcs come to mind.
I wont lie I'm still loving (Most of) the new maps and socket sets. New weapons and the continuation of the rest of the racial drop suits would defiantly keep me interested. |

Yes the core (infantry) mechanics are about 80% and that is good enough to focus the majority of development into new content, while CCP Wolfman's team continues to work on vehicles.
What is needed most desperately is maps and modes. Knee 101 has shown what they can accomplish and now it is time to expand thing exponentially. More maps and more iterations on current maps (i.e: move the Null Cannons around). And then we need more game modes. I am not talking pie in the sky game modes with serious EVE Online integration...but some standard FPS staple modes to keep people from getting bored. The EVE integration should come later, preferably when the game moves to PS4 and when battles are at least 32v32. In the meantime, other objective based, team focused modes need to occur. 15 months of Skirmish and Ambush is just about enough.
Introduction of the rest of the racial weapons and dropsuits should be happening throughout the introduction of new maps and modes. It is about time.
Finally, they have got to get the PvE into the game. People need a reason to log on when they don't feel like competitive MP. |

More content + balancing in the SAME patch in future would be nice. Pure balance patches are a bit meh |

In math & physics we often talk about first order approximations, second order approximations, third order etc.
First order is a crude but serviceable approximation, second order is when you start to get things dialed down, third order is when you've got it clocked and running on rails.
I would say that CCP has got their first order approximation to a AAA shooter. It works well enough, but it still doesn't feel good.
However, if 1.5 iterates successfully on the core and gets DUST to that second approximation then fine, we can start adding some content.
But i will say this: the mechanics as they stand right now won't raise our metacritic score by much. We players and CCP can't really afford to stop working on the core mechanics without leaving DUST permanently gimped. |

only real broken core issues are spawning, invisible swarms, and when you are flying a dropship players won't render or update their icon position till you're 5 feet away.
Those may be bad but I'd rather have new vehicles and turrets than take 2 years to finally optimize those things for a console which by that point will be obsolete.
So yeah, content. |

The great thing about new maps is that the power of all those possible combinations really start to work for us as we add maps. With two more maps the total number of possible battlegrounds will be a big number. For us vets that's good, but for new players it'll be freakin' great.
Plus we need time with new maps to find the glitchy spots - we want to do this with at least two more maps before CCP starts their big marketing push.
And if CCP can give RydogV what he wants and bring in even one or two quality game modes we'll have enough content to keep all the new players and most of the vets busy until CCP can start the process of integration with New Eden. |
